Where to stay in New York City

The first step to finding accommodations in New York City is finding the right neighborhood. Manhattan, where most visitors end up, offers some of the most expensive rooms in the world, though there are lower-budget options, such as hostels with shared restrooms. Reduce your costs by basing yourself in one of the outer boroughs, but beware of low-end motels where you may end up sharing the premises with hourly customers. Alternatively, stay along the New Jersey shore, offering all the major chain hotels at considerably lower prices than their Manhattan equivalents.

  • Brookfield mall is very beautiful, clean, and spacious. They have skin care stores, to luxury brands, you name it. I checked out their food court and they have a lot to choose from, I didn't know that blue Ribbon Sushi would be there. I would come here again to see the view in the summer time and probably shop around. The view is magnificent here, you would see the river and fun fact: there's palm trees as well! Great for your gram!
  • Brookfield Place becomes one of my favorite place to go when I go to downtown Manhattan. I usually like to have lunch there. It gets a lot of nice stores there, and a park right outside where I always enjoy going. New Jersey view is right in front. You can spend your afternoon there until dawn. A very pleasant place to stay as I recommend it.
  • Great place for food, shopping and just sitting and relaxing. There are several restaurants including a food court where you can get a quick meal. The marina nearby offers some nice views. You can also see the Jersey City skyline and the evening sunset from here.
  • It's a high end mall with lots of luxury brands. The Hudson Eats food hall has some really good options to choose from. The view of the river from the other side of the mall is the best part. Lots of bars and restaurants along the park.
  • My go to place when I'm in that part of the city. Plenty of food options at reasonable prices. Lots of seating and the views can't be beat. Also several restrooms which are well maintained and clean. And if you are looking for a place to shop there are plenty of big name outlets here as well.
