  • We always enjoy our stay at Cagle. In this last visit at the end of November, there were very few people in the campsite. It was nice and quiet. We enjoyed kayaking from the bridge at the Stubblefield...  more »
  • Beautiful Park, small and lots of trees, and large spots. We do RV camping. They have everything you need for a relaxing stay!
  • Nothing touches my soul more than nature and there is plenty of it here. A beautiful place to picnic and enjoy the day. I didn't stay long, but I'd love to go back and find out more about the areas in...  more »

  • This is a great place. I love all the tall trees and scenery. There are camping grounds all over and the cost to camp overnight is decent. There were alot of trails and so many trees.
  • Beautiful place to hunt, fish, hike, and anything you can think of doing in the great outdoors. Grew up my while life hunting in the beautiful tall pine tree heaven of the Sam Houston National Forest. It's a must if you are an active outdoorsmen!
  • Clean bathrooms, friendly hosts, quiet park that, despite the abundance of summer mosquitos at dusk, is a wonderful escape from civilization. Might be nicer in cooler weather, but at least the camper AC kept us cool during the day. Oh, and watch your nuts. The squirrels are very friendly.
  • The City of Houston is one of the only major cities in America that has a national forest of this size right at its door step. In Texas as there are only two seasons, hot summer and cold summer, this park is accessible to camp and hike year round. The fishing and recreational sports are fantastic. I spent many years in Scouts enjoying this park.
  • Excellent biking! Beautiful scenery! Although come prepared if you visit between May-September as the heat and humidity can be pretty bad at times. Should be fine if you dress appropriately and drink LOTS of water.
