  • Our Hudson Valley round trip we wanted to stay on actually due to the beautiful pictures at "Mohonk Mountain House". Unfortunately, everything was fully booked. Still we wanted to visit hotel and surroundings, go for a walk in the surroundings, take photos and lunch in the hotel or at least a coffee drink. Unfortunately it is not allowed up as a day guest to the hotel. Only against 22 USD oneway entrance, ca 4 km walk through the forest and a "alsTagesgast" recognizable adhesive strap in pink to get to the hotel. And then only with the multiple note, not to enter the House! Also lunch or coffee shop was not possible, only with a reservation. Spontaneously, nothing and this going into the postseason during the week. We found this absolutely a nerve and it does not speak for the hospitality of the House. We then made off our "tapes" are as "disguised guests' then still at the hotel and were glad to have left any money here. The hotel had a morbid and old. Nevertheless, the environment was really nice and the hotel gardens and the Lake are good to look at from the outside. We had some trouble then but a beautiful day. All in all we felt but to rip you off. Sure you could have differently over a hike to the hotel but were we not share local knowledge and had too little time.

  • I only went to Mohonk to hike the trail. I found the rock scramble to be challenging enough to be enjoyable. The rock scramble clearly marked and easy to follow. The view at the top was amazing and we'll worth the trek. I did get lost coming back down after the house back to the parking lot so better signs would be appreciated there.
  • A bit of an exotic location right in our backyard. I was there for breakfast and an afternoon hike up to the Lemon Squeeze. Much of the food was delicious, but it seemed the general consensus of my group believed there should have been a larger selection. Personally think it's quality over quantity. A cook made my omelet right in front of me and I was able to stuff my face with waffles. The grounds were mostly beautiful. Be sure to walk around or you'll miss some truely hidden and beautiful spots to sit and reflect. That said, I'd never pay the asking price to stay overnight. Tickets are around $700 a night. Seems excessive.
  • Mohonk mountain house has an incredible restaurant. The selection (which comes from mostly locally sourced ingredients) has something for everyone. Also offering up vegetarian and gluten-free options! Always enjoy my time here at the restaurant. Both for ambience and the delicious offerings.
  • As beautiful as the views are, the management made this place and experience a true rip-off. I was trying to show the view from the sky top to my older parents yesterday. As we got to the gate they employee with a face expression that screams "don't even think of coming in" approached the car and started by saying that even though the sign said that day hiking is done for the day, he had some available parking spots. Than he said that it costs $27 per person, and rushed to tell me that I cannot see the house (which I didn't even plan on doing), and to be out of the lot before 3:30 PM. Oh and the last thing he finally decided to mention is that there was no shuttle. So essentially he was selling me 2 hours of the parking at $27*4=$112. At that price I can park my car in one of the more expensive garages in Manhattan for a week! Now the question; how great do you think you are that you decided that people must pay$27 a person to walk your forest? Great disappointment and letdown from you after driving my parents to your place for 2+ hours.
  • I love this place! I've been going here since I was a little kid and I still enjoy it. Its very relaxing, the food is great and there is tons of activities to do. I enjoy doing the lemon squeeze rock scramble.
