Where to stay in New Orleans

Though you can walk to most tourist attractions in New Orleans from a hotel in the central business district, remember that many other parts of town feature less expensive and equally comfortable accommodations. Smaller hotels and private guesthouses in quiet residential neighborhoods offer not only good local food and spacious rooms, but can also allow you to explore the city's culture away from overwhelming tourist crowds. To reduce your carbon footprint during your stay, consider one of French Quarter's many green or eco-friendly hotels.

  • There isn't much here..a couple of overpriced shops and others that seem like flea market style. Plus there are many vacancies. Bathrooms were pretty disgusting.  more »
  • There are a few shops here directed at tourists. A small food court is here. You can get a quick bite before going for a ride on the Natchez or catching a Gray line tour.  more »
  • The old Jax Beer Brewery is now home to a collection of shops and restaurants. When I was there, it appeared that a lot of the shops were unoccupied. I was disappointed at the amount of empty space av...  more »

  • Just enjoy the views as you walk thru this old brewery that has been turned into a mini mall. With multiple floors and something for everyone. On every floor.
  • There were some cool shops and good places to grab a bite to eat or a drink. Parts of the area smelled really bad though
  • Conveniently located for parking. Tiny spots, so if you have a large vehicle, you may want a different area. Don't forget to pay for parking, many cars had parking boots.
  • Great little boutiques. Love that you can bring your food from the food court outside so you can watch the river traffic.
  • A great place to cool off and enjoy a snack while visiting the beautiful city!
