  • The women were very friendly and very knowledgeable. I didn't realize that I had come in when the store was about to close, but the owner allowed me to browse to my content without getting rushed. The quality of yarn there is fantastic. However, don't go there if you need something simple that bulk yarn at Michael's or Joann's can take care of. This is more specialty yarn from my observation.
  • My wife and I waited outside for a very long time while my sister in law was shopping. Had to get a crow bar to get her out (lol). She loves the supplies that she can get there. If you are into it, this is the place.
  • Beautiful shop, great selection and the ladies were charming. Definitely worth the trip from New York!
  • Beautiful store with a great selection. Even found some cross stitch kits. What a gem.
  • I love this shop! Whenever I am in town I treat myself to something wonderful from the quarter stitch. The yarns are so beautiful. They have things in there you won't find anywhere else. Cross stitch, needlepoint, hand dyed artisan yarns. I bought two glass yarn needles. One for my daughter and one for myself ( she doesn't share very well.) ha Fabulous and unusual things. Give yourself a minute to look around. If you want cheap yarn and kiddy crafts go to Michaels. This store is beautiful quality products and amazing items. Don't miss it.

Where to stay in New Orleans

Though you can walk to most tourist attractions in New Orleans from a hotel in the central business district, remember that many other parts of town feature less expensive and equally comfortable accommodations. Smaller hotels and private guesthouses in quiet residential neighborhoods offer not only good local food and spacious rooms, but can also allow you to explore the city's culture away from overwhelming tourist crowds. To reduce your carbon footprint during your stay, consider one of French Quarter's many green or eco-friendly hotels.
