Art Museum
Part of New Orleans' biggest and oldest museum of fine art, Sydney and Walda Besthoff Sculpture Garden contains works by sculptors from around the world donated by two notable arts patrons. Situated behind the museum's main building, the 2 hectare (5 acre) landscaped garden exhibits about 60 sculptures, scattered among the verdant vegetation that includes oaks, magnolias, pines, and camellias. Follow the walking trails to see works by Henry Moore, Fernando Botero, Antoine Bourdelle, and Gaston Lachaise. If you'd like a free audio tour for your mobile device, drop by the information window at the garden entrance. Learn about the history of the garden by picking up one of two illustrated publications available at the museum shop. • This is a great place to walk around looking at art and it's free. Free parking, free art and it's outside so you can enjoy it as long as the weather is good!
  • Lovely place with different forms of art. Would recommend for a stroll and definitely would revisit.
  • This is a little hidden gem that's off the beaten path from the normal New Orleans experience. This park, but especially the sculpture garden is beautiful and tranquil. It's a great park with a lot of sculptural art pieces surrounding a quiet little river. On the little rive you can take gondola rides or peddle boats to see the sculptures from a different vantage point. A must visit.
  • lovely grounds Spanish Moss canonical collection bourgeoisie under conservation
  • Absolutely recommended. Great Sculptures with variety of styles (modern, contemporary, etc) in a beautiful natural setting.
