Where to stay in New Orleans

Though you can walk to most tourist attractions in New Orleans from a hotel in the central business district, remember that many other parts of town feature less expensive and equally comfortable accommodations. Smaller hotels and private guesthouses in quiet residential neighborhoods offer not only good local food and spacious rooms, but can also allow you to explore the city's culture away from overwhelming tourist crowds. To reduce your carbon footprint during your stay, consider one of French Quarter's many green or eco-friendly hotels.

  • End of a disappointing season (yet again) for the NO Pelicans but got some great seats for one of their last games at home. Hadn't been to the Center in awhile so it was nice to see the large scoreboa...  more »
  • Excellent facility. Lots of security. Easy to find parking. Variety of food and drink offerings. Clean. Good sound. Neil Diamonds still got it. So glad he came to New Orleans!  more »
  • Being from Eastern Iowa, you have to support any Chicago team. Now, Steve and I are not huge sports fans, but he likes going to see a sporting event in a new city we have never been to before. Our luc...  more »

  • We were visiting New Orleans and saw Radio Head was playing at the center. There were plenty of tickets $20 tickets available online 4 hours before show time. We decide to not buy online and buy at the box office. When we got to the center the person at the box office person said each ticket was 82.50. I said there were plenty of tickets when I check a few hours ago and she just looked confused. We decided to leave. When we got half way back to the hotel I looked online and found plenty of $20 tickets. HOW RIDICULOUS!! Wasted our whole afternoon. Don't go to the place.
  • Great place for a large venue. Very clean. Extremely spread out. Lots of handicapped access spaces.
  • Had some trouble getting accessible tickets, but one of the box office managers called and explained their policy and why they have this policy. It was a very sensible explanation. He was very nice. Hopefully, my next experience will run more smoothly...
  • If your on the lower level or floor, it might be ok. I've seen three concerts here and two were not as enjoyable. The Lakefront Arena is much better.
  • Well, I've been to two Pelicans games and the atmosphere is electric! I ordered food off of the Pelicans app and my popcorn came out immediately. The Pelicans aren't the best team but their facilities are top-notch. I ate pizza and had a smoothie (Smoothie King Center) and they were both great! I have really no complaints about the Smoothie King Center. Let's Go Pels!
