  • Very cool venue. Lotsa space, good seating, fair prices, full bars, and sometimes live music. The staff was friendly.  more »
  • There is no other place in New Orleans (or elsewhere) like the Rock 'n' Bowl. If you've never been, it's a must-do. People and staff are friendly, and there is a family vibe as dancers of all ages sto...  more »

  • Went here on a Wednesday and there was live music. We payed a cover charge of ten bucks each for the band and then paid 24/hour for the lane and 1 dollar each for shoes. We arrived around 8:30 and there we were told no lanes were available until 10. We decided to grab a beer and listen to the music while we waited. Our bartender was extremely rude so that started our night off on a sour note. We then lined up to put our name down for a lane, but we're shocked to find out one was available right away. Rest of the night went smoothly. When our lane got jammed it was resolved immediately and the band (I believe it was Yat Pack) were awesome. Wanted to rate it a three for the rude service, but the concept, band, and other staff members made it a four!
  • Planned surprise birthday party on short notice staff extremely helpful. Her favorite band was playing. The catered food was excellent. The young kids bowled, adults danced to the lively Cajun music and the older guys talked football. It was a great Party!
  • Very nice place great dance floor and band. Parking lot fills fast but there is free street parking not far. There's a bar arcade bowling alley. The dance floor is happening. I don't think they play booty music here, Latin or swing yes. Dress up.
  • My wife and I spent new year's eve at rock and bowl. Interesting building with both bowling and a stage and dancing area for live music. There are pic-nic tables for seating, which are not the most comfortable. We even ordered a pizza and some cake. Overall great experience. I think bowling would be fun here too!
  • Such a fun place! The music is top notch with a nice, big dance floor. I didn't bowl, but the lanes looked nice and clean with bench seating. The staff was not super helpful but very friendly. We were there with a party and several of the employees seemed to not know where the party was or that it was even happening. The food is typical bar food (pizza, chicken tenders, etc.) but very good. The event room is a nice space but the entrance has no signage or decorations. It feels like you're going into an employee break room. Once inside, though, it's a nice space, perfect for an event. The bar selection is great with delicious seasonal beers on tap. I will definitely be back!

Where to stay in New Orleans

Though you can walk to most tourist attractions in New Orleans from a hotel in the central business district, remember that many other parts of town feature less expensive and equally comfortable accommodations. Smaller hotels and private guesthouses in quiet residential neighborhoods offer not only good local food and spacious rooms, but can also allow you to explore the city's culture away from overwhelming tourist crowds. To reduce your carbon footprint during your stay, consider one of French Quarter's many green or eco-friendly hotels.
