  • We were a little reluctant to stop here as it is in the middle of the tourist scrum, but we came in, sat and enjoyed some authentic Dixieland jazz. The music as sublime.  more »
  • We were there in March of 2019. I put off writing a review because I had really wanted to like it. The music was, in fact, great. I'm giving it 3/5 solely because the musicians were stellar. The.....  more »
  • I must say I was skeptical about going here. I read some reviews and wasn’t sure it was worth the money. Finally, I decided to just book it, and I am so glad I did! I went ahead and booked the...  more »

  • One of a kind historical place. Buy tickets early for extra if you want good seats. Otherwise, wait in the line for less (and you may be waiting as the night progresses). Shows start every hour or two. Rigid able how they do things, but it's too persevere an authentic experience. Great music. Must see (and hear)!
  • Absolutely Amazing!!!! This place will change the way you think and feel about music if you've never heard jazz in person. It was my first experience with this amazing level of jazz and I am now in love!!! I can't recommend this place enough. You should definitely go and you should definitely purchase reserved seating to guarantee a comfortable place to sit and remove the hassle of waiting in line
  • You hear good music all over the Frenchman and Bourbon street to be sure. But Preservation Hall is something special and unique. The mood, there purpose and the quality of the musician made this place a step above the rest. I will go every time I step foot into New Orleans. Traditional Jazz at it's best. What a treat!
  • ✔️ Checked off the bucket list, and what a treat! I understand that they have to get you in and corral you out to accommodate the masses of folks looking to get in, but that would be my only complaint. Standing shoulder to shoulder, we all enjoyed a sublime showing of jazz prowess and showmanship. Just a fantastic time, and I hope I have the opportunity to do it again. Don't forget to grab a beer or a hurricane and visit a restroom before going in! You won't find those inside. 🎹🎺🎷
  • It was definitely fun, I don't regret going, and the location is super convenient since it's right next to Bourbon Street and they allow drinks inside, however I will say there's better places out there. It's called Preservation Hall but a better name is probably Preservation Room. I had to wait in line over an hour to get in and they cram everyone into a tiny room and you have to sit. If you want a real jazz experience and to be able to really get into the music, this place isn't great. It's definitely more for tourists. The band was still wonderful though and I had a whole lot of fun despite the confined spaces. I personally just didn't expect it to be so small but if you're fine with just sitting on the floor of a tiny room as old white guys stoically stare at the band, this place isn't bad.
