  • Cute, small. It's a tourist trap. Not sure if anyone legitimately into voodoo shops there, but it's worth a 15 minute stop. Neat stuff on display. wish I could take pictures inside.
  • I was shocked at how rude the employees in this shop were. Even the homeless on the street were nicer than these folks. Especially the little "bouncer". I went in and was looking around and the "bouncer" accused me of having my Gopro camera on, which I did not. He kept yelling at me to leave the store. I tried to show him my camera and he wouldn't even look at me or the camera. He just kept yelling and trying to escalate the situation. 10 other people left the store because they were so disgusted by how this little "bouncer" was acting. This place is a joke and full of overpriced trinkets and trash. You just lost quiet a bit of business by acting like complete jerks.
  • I recommend experiencing Marie Laveau's! There is so much to see and learn in that little shop. I will return when i have more time to spend. The staff is knowledgeable and very friendly!!
  • I felt at home in this little shop. I can't think of one bad thing to say about it. The alters were lovely and I really appreciated all the hand written information on the products. I can't wait to go back!
  • Stopped by this place while visiting just after Christmas 2017. You can't take any pictures in there but I loved it. It was full of creative art that looked handmade, dolls that are meant for a variety if intentions...nothing bad or so called evil as most people would think......well, as far as what I saw..lol. The vibe in the store was pretty nice and the gurl toward the back counter was very friendly too. I got some incense it smells sooooo good. I wish I had labeled the ones I picked out because they were all separate scented sticks. The hand written labels on most if the items is what made it feel so authentic. Everything from crystals to alters where very interesting. Will surely go back to explore more.

Where to stay in New Orleans

Though you can walk to most tourist attractions in New Orleans from a hotel in the central business district, remember that many other parts of town feature less expensive and equally comfortable accommodations. Smaller hotels and private guesthouses in quiet residential neighborhoods offer not only good local food and spacious rooms, but can also allow you to explore the city's culture away from overwhelming tourist crowds. To reduce your carbon footprint during your stay, consider one of French Quarter's many green or eco-friendly hotels.
