  • Take your time and enjoy the smell and feel of a brick and mortar record store. Catch a show on their small stage or listen to CDs they set up in CD players. The selection of local music is huge. Lots of Cajun, Blues, Jazz, and all nicely focused on NO / LA. Very little Rock/Pop/HipHop. Vinyl selection is somewhat small but follows the same pattern. I usually grab a CD they currently recommend. Always good. Prices are a little high but they put quite a bit of work into their selection of local music and after all this is a brick and mortar store and has real expenses.
  • Great selection of new and old LP's, local and world jazz, blues, gospel, country. They sell CD's as well. Knowledgeable and helpful staff. It's a must stop if you appreciate music, and especially vynils. They also have three players where you can check before purchasing. Prices range from $3 up to $100 depending on selection. Oh, BTW, if you're driving, I suggest paying for the meter and set a reminder, time flies so quick in this store, I've got a $30 ticket :)
  • Louisiana Music Factory should be your first place to visit in the French Quarter. I can't say enough good things about this place or their staff. I bought a mountain of NO jazz last time I was in there and am sure to do so again! Their sheet music section is great too. This place is awesome!
  • Worse store of new orleans and of the whole trip we did (nashville, memphis, lafayette). i bought for 150 $ there, came back a day later to exchange one of the record (patti smith easter paid 20$ for canadian press without lyrics and insert) and the guy wouldn't even consider it." this is used, sale are final". Wow, i wasn't asking for a refund just exchange it with something else and probably would have ended up buying more stuff but no. So records are not cheap there, all records at 20 $ are sealed with scotch tape!!! which shows the paranoia going on there. Pass your way, go to Euclid or Peaches for used stuff, much better stuff, better priced and nice people not like that lousy guy
  • Great vinyl shop just a few blocks from the French Market.
