  • The history of this location is crazy, if you love history and Halloween this tour is for you! We walked around on a misty Halloween night listening to the history of the LaLaurie Family. It is a beau...  more »
  • This place was a stop on a tour and it’s definitely haunted. Previously owned by many people but most famous was Nicholas cage. Free to walk on your own.  more »
  • You're on Royal Street, past Gallier House and you will find the home of the infamous Delphine LaLaurie. A historic and beautiful which tells a story of suffering and horror. Now it's a beautiful house out and (apparently) even down though is not open to the public.

  • you cant go inside which SUCKS I wish they would make this open to tours ( they would make a finical killing) it was busy outside with tourists. It is so beautiful! very well kept, is stunning building. well worth the walk to visit.
  • Definitely stop by this haunted mansion! I recommend going on a tour that includes this house as a stop. Voodoo Lounge offers one that is great! You can't go in the house but it is still cool to visit. On the morning of April 10, 1834, a fire broke out at the luxurious house owned by Delphine LaLaurie. The fire not only destroyed part of the house, it also brought to light slaves who were starved, disfigured, tortured and chained in the upper part of the building. It is said that many tortured souls still roam the halls and streets of this house. Don't walk under the balcony!
  • Fascinating and creepybstory. Very wellnexplained by Sara, our tourguide. New Orleans is a city with a remarkable history
  • You can't go inside. The history of this house is morbid and well documented. I got a creepy vibe standing by the front door. Stop by and see it for yourself. Im sure Madam is burn in in he'll where she belongs. .
  • Lovely home with a very dark past. For all the dirty details without the guided tour price, download the NOLA Go app for inexpensive self-guided walking tours (FREE-$3.99/ea or $7.99/all at the time of this review).

Where to stay in New Orleans

Though you can walk to most tourist attractions in New Orleans from a hotel in the central business district, remember that many other parts of town feature less expensive and equally comfortable accommodations. Smaller hotels and private guesthouses in quiet residential neighborhoods offer not only good local food and spacious rooms, but can also allow you to explore the city's culture away from overwhelming tourist crowds. To reduce your carbon footprint during your stay, consider one of French Quarter's many green or eco-friendly hotels.
