See New Orleans-style prints, books, dolls, and fine art at Jamie Hayes Gallery, the whimsical gallery of a colorblind artist. Wherever you look in the quirky shop, you'll see vibrantly colored pieces, plus plush dolls with huge lips, voodoo mummy dolls, Mardi Gras beads, animal-shaped pillows, goofy T-shirts, and wacky coasters. Check out the artist's paintings portraying pirates, unicorns, cats, fish, and other characters from his imagination. Where to stay in New Orleans

Though you can walk to most tourist attractions in New Orleans from a hotel in the central business district, remember that many other parts of town feature less expensive and equally comfortable accommodations. Smaller hotels and private guesthouses in quiet residential neighborhoods offer not only good local food and spacious rooms, but can also allow you to explore the city's culture away from overwhelming tourist crowds. To reduce your carbon footprint during your stay, consider one of French Quarter's many green or eco-friendly hotels.

  • The gallery was stunning but the staff was as beautiful in personality as the artwork. GREAT prices, every person who visits New Orleans should stop here. Prints with original signatures are very inexpensive, you can find a piece of new Orleans history even if the budget only allows a few dollars to spend.
  • Google search says open until 8pm. It was 6pm when I saw this and could have come by. Instead I planned on getting there around 730pm which would give me 20 minutes to look around. Instead the very bright sign on the window clearly said they close at 7pm. Fail.
  • A humble opinion..It's just an alright place. Maybe I expected too much after reading all the reviews.
  • A friend told me about the gallery so we made sure to check it out when we were there over Thanksgiving. I tell everyone I know that's going to New Orleans they have to go, amazing wonderful place. I love the art and the staff is phenomenal. We had our fundraiser for our humane society, I had to order some dog and cat pictures for our silent auction. They were a giant hit, I had the opportunity to tell people the background of the prints. I want to thank the gallery for providing a free print for our cause. I'm sure that if any of these people are in New Orleans they'll be visiting the gallery. Thank you again.
