  • I'm fairly knowledgeable but wanted some help with a few items. The one person on staff was on the phone the entire time I was in there. I do recommend it but its more for serious practitioners.  more »
  • We went to New Orleans on a getaway trip and also to see Ellie. She is the reason we go to Hex, and the friendly informative staff. If you are looking for a genuine, kind, person to read for you, she ...  more »

  • We had a reading from Kristen who I thought was very insightful and interesting. I'm not much of a believer in this type of stuff but I'd say that 80% or so of the information she identified was accurate including our children, health problems and current situation. These weren't vague descriptions either - most were very specific. Overall it was very interesting, well worth the time and money.
  • Although a bit touristy for my liking, the ladies here were very nice and helpful.
  • My wife is a practicing witch and loved this place. It has a wide variety of herbs, essential oils, books and candles.
  • Staff is very knowledgeable and friendly! Store is a bit crowded but most of the beautiful and unique shops in the Quarter are. If you're looking for rare or hard to find books they should be your first stop!
  • Cool staff. Picked up a Rose of Jericho a couple years ago... Nice little novelty to have in the house. The have all the things you would need for any sort of witch crafty type of situation. Some things are certainly more authentic than others, but it is certainly worth stopping in this place to check it out.

Where to stay in New Orleans

Though you can walk to most tourist attractions in New Orleans from a hotel in the central business district, remember that many other parts of town feature less expensive and equally comfortable accommodations. Smaller hotels and private guesthouses in quiet residential neighborhoods offer not only good local food and spacious rooms, but can also allow you to explore the city's culture away from overwhelming tourist crowds. To reduce your carbon footprint during your stay, consider one of French Quarter's many green or eco-friendly hotels.
