  • First of all, I'm not sure why the description states that this attraction is closed due to Hurricane Katrina. It is definitely open. Our family just recently spent the day there. It was wonderful. Th...  more »

  • I hadn't been to the Carousel Gardens since I was a little kid, when we came here for Jingle Bells and Beer. I really need to make more of a point to come to this part of the park! The park itself is ...  more »

  • I was here for the Celebration in the Oaks also known as Christmas in the Oaks, the overall square footage of the lights was absolutely impressive the lights are hand done which absolutely blew my mind to find out if these were done individually each piece. The quality of the park was really something to be noted because it was outstanding. The park even in the middle of the evening after it gotten dark, wasn't dirty. The staff members that I did actually communicate with where exceptionally helpful and amazingly polite
  • Have been going here for the celebration in the oaks for years, and I'd like to say that it never gets old. The place is truly beautiful and enchanting on its own but with the lights is even better. It will remain one of my favorite places to visit, especially during Christmas.
  • The Carousel, built in 1908 and lovingly maintained, is exactly what children's dreams are. Swift, fun, gorgeous animals, some nice, some don't. The train that guess around the park is also a must. The other rides seem a little scary from a safety standpoint, but that didn't deter determined youngsters.
  • When was the last time you took a ride on a Carousel? When was the last time you rode a Unicorn, and an Elephant? When was the last time you strolled through a garden/amusement park possibly holding hands with your significant other? If you havent in a while I suggest a walk through Carousel Gardens and a ride on the Carousel. Sometimes we deserve to be a kid again.
  • Absolute gorgeous place to go and relax, or walk, run, skate whatever you feel. It's secluded enough to where u can be alone but also have people close by to feel safe alone. Enjoy yourself!

Where to stay in New Orleans

Though you can walk to most tourist attractions in New Orleans from a hotel in the central business district, remember that many other parts of town feature less expensive and equally comfortable accommodations. Smaller hotels and private guesthouses in quiet residential neighborhoods offer not only good local food and spacious rooms, but can also allow you to explore the city's culture away from overwhelming tourist crowds. To reduce your carbon footprint during your stay, consider one of French Quarter's many green or eco-friendly hotels.
