  • Just try and make sure you visit and take the seasonal train rides when the weather is nice. Everyone that works here is pretty much volunteers who love trains!! Cool place to visit if you love trains...  more »
  • We did the Santa train. It was awesome, but very cold so dress appropriately because the cars are open air. We will definitely go back, and maybe volunteer.  more »
  • This is one of those train events that you could pay a lot for somewhere else (especially around Christmas) and get a slightly more polished outing. Or you can come here, for a fun, happy, experience....  more »
  • A favorite Christmas tradition for the little ones to have Santa come sit with them. We'll organized. Appreciate all the volunteers.
  • This is a really cool railway museum not too far from the Raleigh area. Worth checking out.
  • This is a great day trip for the family. It has trains for all ages. They have G-scale trains on the parking lot side, it is enjoyed by the little kids and the big kids. On the other side are the big trains. They have ride scheduled from early Spring through the Christmas rides in December. Their Halloween trains in October are fantastic, from big cat to flying witches.
  • So it's all volunteers. kudo's to them all to work hard on a crisp December day. Yes the environment and equipment needs more money and time invested, yes the interaction could be more engaging and descriptive and immersive, but hey, it's a working stream train thirty minutes or less from anywhere in the Triangle! Do you have children? Take them! Are you a train loving kid in an adult body, take that kid too.
  • Fun place for kids to ride a train. Theme train rides throughout the year. Prices is great too
