  • I love visiting the Peabody Museum. It has been a favorite for decades and I always forget how many exhibits they have in the permanent and rotating collections. The hall of dinosaurs is, of course, exciting and informative. My favorites include the gems/minerals, dinosaurs, and the dioramas of animals and ecosystems, but there's more! The space, bugs, birds, Egypt, cave people, kids area (with a free-roaming stick bug and a clear leaf-cutter ant tube habitat). If you can, take advantage of senior/kid discounts, as the entry prices add up, but aren't unreasonable compared to other museums. If you have kids, look for the family days events, as the additional staff add more interactive fun for them.
  • A step into history! Wide variety of artifacts on display! Multi level! Worth stopping by to get a breath of something “new” or ancient depending on how you look at it! Gift shop and activities for kids!
  • Always a facinating visit and the exhibits are brilliantly presented. The new mineralogy exhibit is stunning for all ages. It's surprising what is just below our feet in Connecticut.
  • I vaguely remember visiting and loving the Peabody as a child. Brought my 2.5 year old here today and she had a blast. It also wasn't very busy so she got to run around from exhibit to exhibit and made a circuit of the great Hall at least three or four times. Nice little hands on area on the second floor that was a big hit with the toddler. It's a great sized museum to see if you just have a few hours. It was also nice she was still free, most museums start charging at age 2 but the Peabody doesn't until age 3. Great place to spend a morning or afternoon with young kids.
  • We always have a great time visiting the dinosaur bones, and the visiting exhibits are interesting. The museum balances kid appeal with more adult offerings in natural history and world cultures.
