  • We had a tasting of wines, where several wineries from around the world were present. The place is excellent with a carousel for who would like to go for a ride. Both the food and service were excellent

  • A lot of people have commented on the $30 fee for non-resident vehicles entering the park. Personally, I don't think the park is worth $30. However, if you just park half a mile down the road and walk...  more »
  • We came to see the lighthouse & brought out dogs for a walk. As a non-CT resident, we were charged $25 to enter the park. I'm sorry but it just wasn't worth it. The park & facilities are just OK. Ther...  more »

  • We chose Lighthouse Point Park as the venue for our wedding and though the location & venue were beautiful, on the day of our wedding, Sabrina (who is the point of contact for the park who assured us she would be there to help coordinate logistics on the day of the wedding) was a no show, and did not answer her emails (which was our only way to contact her because she provided no phone number). She was completely unreachable when we needed her. Instead of Sabrina, we got a park representative who had no idea what was going on, was completely unhelpful and provided zero assistance when we needed to change plans because it rained the day of our wedding and we had to move the ceremony inside instead of having it on the beach. The rain wasn't a big deal but the fact that we were assured that Sabrina would be there but she was completely unreachable with no explanation really made the experience stressful and chaotic. We improvised and figured it out so the ceremony was still nice despite being inside and our reception was a lot of fun but we were very upset that Sabrina was a no call no show even though she assured us that she would be there when we making the decision to choose lighthouse point park as our venue. Very unprofessional.
  • This place is awesome. It has many barbeque setups next to light house and parking. Good place for group activity. Parking may not be free in day time but evening time was totally open.
  • Reasons it wasn't a 1-2: Scenery was beautiful and it was nice for swimming Reasons I wanted to rate it 1-2: it was $30 day use for an out of state plate (6/25/17) and someone who had microphone privileges was overdoing it. They left it on so there was a buzz and they could more easily chastise folks for anything. For example, he told visitors not to go under pavilions which were unoccupied, unless they rented them. While this wasn't towards me, it was distracting and had an unwelcoming effect. Ways to make this a 5 star: the sound system seems more appropriate for emergencies; otherwise, go over to folks and talk to them about your policies rather than shouting across the entire park at them. the mission of the park and staff should be to support ppl having a safe *and* enjoyable time. It's also great that residents can go for free and I don't mind charging visitors something. However, $20 as stated online is more than enough. $30 for a day is excessive.
  • Nice for a local beach. I appreciate that New Haven residence get free parking. They do a pretty good job keeping it clean considering that everyone comes here
  • The water had too much seaweed. The sand is coarse and full of tiny pebbles. There are no trees, therefore, you have to bring an umbrella. The sprinklers are nice, but get very crowded.
