  • The place is nice but limited in what it has to offer. Fells more like a "tourist attraction" than a real one.The "active Shaker community" as it states includes 3 men living in 2 big farm house. One ...  more »

  • I very much enjoyed the enthusiastic and knowledge laden tour and the serene setting only enhanced the day.

  • It was fun to visit on their festival day. I'm not sure what else there is to do here but the crafts and demonstrations made the visit from Portland worthwhile.
  • Zion's Center of Union, Sabbathday Lake is God's Chosen place. Only the wise and discerning eye can comprehend the hidden Eternal Glory within these 1800 acres. Take God out and its still a plausible effort at communal living. A must see experience and a good fair ticket price to learn some American history if you don't value the God factor. However, if you are a true and discerning Christian, you will meet your Maker here...in peace. Enjoy your tour.
  • Tis a gift to be simple
  • Totally not worth $7.00, I couldn't take the walking tour (7.00) as it was another 40 minutes before it started. I opted for the museum. It was one room divided up. Had VERY few artifacts and some pictures. Took me less 10 minutes (and only that because I read EVERY paragraph by EVERY photo). Store is uninteresting. Without the walking tour not allowed to even walk down the street. Don't know about the walking tour but the museum was NOT worth the money OR the drive.
  • I love outside museum history
