  • When the pourer tells you it's bad believe her. Concord grapes are for eating and Chardonnay shouldn't taste like petrol.
  • Oh what fun....There was just my husband and myself, so we had a very personal wine tasting. I'm not a wine connoisseur, but I do know what I like....the server had me try all the wines starting with ...  read more »
  • Not sure why this is rated so high. The place was dead and the person working seemed completely uninterested. No comparison to a real winery.
  • Mack was amazing. The best customer service I have ever seen. Recommend this place for anyone, treated my wife and I like family!
  • We have lots of fun each time we visit the brewery and tasting room. I want to go back on night to see what the patio would be like when it is more crowded.
  • I agree with AL. I have been to Primrose Winery a few times and have never been rudely treated or forced drink any wine! Sounds like Ms. Lindsey is a customer business owners can do without. Mentioning medication that this lovely lady is taking for a degenerative condition is not only tacky but lacking in compassion. Grow up! Now on to the wines: I appreciate the fact that there are sulfite free wines which many wineries do not have. People who tend to be prone to headaches from wines with tannins can enjoy these wines without fear of headaches. I highly recommend a sampling. Remember: Considerate customers make for considerate service, which I have always received here.
  • The staff was knowledgeable and the wine was good. While none of them were "traditional" like a merlot or cab, they were tasty in their own right. I highly recommend stopping by if you have some time and you find yourself in New Glarus. My only gripe is the small sample sizes. While I understand they are a small winery and have limited margin to serve larger samples, I half expected a medicine dropper to be introduced at some point. We did purchase a couple bottles regardless, so I guess the business model is working.
  • This little wine shop is an excellent place to stop and enjoy a variety of different wine samples. Peg, the owner, starts with the driest wines gradually working your way to the sweetest wines. You get a sample of about ten different wines with an interesting story about each one. The wine tasting experience can take about a half an hour or more, so if you have other plans, you may want to think about this before you start sampling. But if need be, you can leave early. You are also able to rate every wine you taste. If you do not like a wine type, all you have to do is not drink it. To Lindsey, the other reviewer who seems to lack manners and common sense, if you don't like a wine, dont drink it. It is that simle. I've been here several times and I was never forced to drink a wine. You most certainly don't have to try to take out a places reputation with multiple bad reviews just because you were offered a wine you do not like. Grow up please and don't leave your predjudice reviews! All in all, this wine shop is an excellent place to stop and shop for wines. The ingredients are all retrieved from local farms and people. The prices are also very reasonable for the freshness and quaility of the wines. I personally liked the Strawberry Rhubarb wine. Bottom line: if you are in New Glarus, like wine, would like to learn more about the wines that you are sampling, and have some time to spare, I would highly recommend stopping in and enjoy the wine samples that New Glarus Primrose Winery has to offer!
