  • Enjoyed a great train ride on the Glen Rock Express. The train cars were clean and the staff was very friendly. The gift shop was nice and they have a model railroad and toy train layout for the kids. Great afternoon! Will definitely be back for another ride in the fall.
  • We went on the train while on vacation. It's out there a bit, but well worth the trip. If you go on a later train ride and have kids, bring snacks! Not many places to eat and the close shop early. Anyone complaining that the train is too noisy is a moron. It's an open air train, common you nitwit!!! We took our 2 year old and 10 month old on it, our 2 year old LOVED the train ride, our 10 month old slept through most of it. If you go during the summer months, bring water as it gets quite warm. I strongly recommend any train lover or history buff go on this train ride or even anyone with kids, it's a great ride!
  • Did not ride the train, but chased it by bike from New Freedom to Glen Rock. Beautiful replica 4-4-0 steam engine pulls Northern Central Railroad cars along the Heritage Rail Trail in scenic York County.
  • This is the only operating Civil War Era steam train east of the Mississippi. For that reason alone it is worth visiting. Add to the mix the correct coaches from the era, a beautifully restored Pennsylvania Railroad GP9 which operates when the steam engine isn't and the Hanover Junction station which looks the same as when Abraham Lincoln stopped there in 1863 on his way to Gettysburg and you have the beginnings of a world class attraction. In many ways this reminds me of the Strasburg Railroad in it's infancy, the difference is this location has more history and a walking/bike trail adjacent to the tracks.
  • Great way to learn about this historic railway! Friendly staff and fun ride.
