Mountaineer Casino Reviews
The hotel rooms were very clean, spacious and well appointed. The casino has many places to eat and the buffet is great for seniors as they have special pricing. I liked to the casino floor as it is a... more »
Overall this is not a bad place, but I don't recommend staying in the lodge. It is not as nice as the tower. The coffee maker was on the table not plugged in and there was no way the cord could reach ... more »
My wife and I enjoyed the casino. We had fun. She likes the slot machines and I like table games and this casino has both. We were also able to get a room for a reasonable price and some good food. more »
Wow! Who knew that this place is so nice? They have really cleaned and fixed this place up. It is as nice as most Vegas Strip casinos now! The people working here in the casino were so very friendly and smiling! I loved it! IF you're looking for a nice place for a getaway and/or if you're looking for a friendly casino THIS IS THE PLACE! The separate smoking area is nice for all. Smokers can puff away in their own private large area. Non smokers can breath easy as the smoke is isolated.
Mountaineer is easily my favorite local gambling spot. It's comfortable, casual and I usually can walk out with money. The atmosphere has vastly improved since there's no true indoor smoking anymore. You no longer, as a non smoker need to keep a change of clothes in the car. The semi recent addition of table games slots Mountaineer as a real casino instead of a mere gaming resort and racetrack. Though I haven't played any table games, I like that they're there and they seem to be popular. Overall, Mountaineer is my favorite local place to go risk it all.
For being in the middle of nowhere, this casino is pretty nice. It's smoke free, has roughly 30 table games and 6 poker tables. The employees are friendly here. Food is reasonably priced. Table limits are reasonable. They even have Spanish 21 which a lot of casinos don't have around here.
We enjoy Mountaineer casino and racetrack. We have been going for years but it has recently been going down hill. Everytime we go they are remodeling something and there are hardly any machines any more. The tables are taking becoming more abundant. There is a smoking area but the general building is non-smoking. The bill breaking/ticket payout machines are few and far between. The restaurants have always been good food and decent service. The racetrack is a fun place to go and see the horses. There are few machines in the track building to play in between races. The only real downside to this casino is it is literally in the middle of nowhere West Virginia so if you're staying in the hotel there isn't much else around.
I love Mountaineer we're eligible for a free room 4 times a month during the week which gives us more money to gamble on. It's just a great place to go spend the night, you can have a few drinks, and you don't have to worry about driving home. They have some great restaurants in there as well as a smorgasbord type restaurant and the food is always good. If you've never been to Mountaineer Casino you do not know what you're missing.
