  • I love this place! Situated in historic New Castle, this park has a well kept, paved path that runs along the Delaware river. Along the waters edge, you'll find remnants of the old pier where William Penn first stepped onto American soil in 1682. Though you are not permitted to swim, there a few beaches you can stroll along. Look down and you may find colorful sea glass and coins amongst the shipwreck timbers and drift wood. On the other side of the path is lush green park land. There are many benches and picnic tables, shaded by massive specimen trees that are labeled with small plaques for identification. I highly recommend sticking around for sunset. The view is wonderful. Be sure to bring a bag or 2 for your trash. There are no garbage cans in the park.
  • Great urban park with amazing views. Lots of places to sit and take it all in or picnic. Public restrooms and paved path. The river, while beautiful, does float in some trash. My family loved the hot dog cart at the end of the street from downtown. Cool old train stop and tracks.
  • It's nice. I like the walk along the water. Old New Castle is a nice place to visit. A lot of history. Quaint.
  • Whenever I need a serene place to go during evening I visit battery park situation in little old town of new castle. They have long walking trail along the river which I always enjoy. Plus you can always go there with friends to enjoy picnic and fishing.
  • Great walkway along the water. Short walk to historic old New Castle. Great for walking pets and the play area is nice for the kids.
