  • Pleasant walk along the Delaware. Popular with locals many out on sunny day with their dogs and children. Limited parking so be prepared to walk down from the town proper.
  • After a meal at Jessop's Tavern we took a walk along the waterfront. There is presently construction going on as they are replacing a pier but the walkway along the shoreline is still open as is the g...  read more »
  • Battery park is a cute little area on the water. It's quiet and peaceful, has a walking trail, playground, and benches to just sit & watch the water. Lots of squirrels running around.
  • I love this place! Situated in historic New Castle, this park has a well kept, paved path that runs along the Delaware river. Along the waters edge, you'll find remnants of the old pier where William Penn first stepped onto American soil in 1682. Though you are not permitted to swim, there a few beaches you can stroll along. Look down and you may find colorful sea glass and coins amongst the shipwreck timbers and drift wood. On the other side of the path is lush green park land. There are many benches and picnic tables, shaded by massive specimen trees that are labeled with small plaques for identification. I highly recommend sticking around for sunset. The view is wonderful. Be sure to bring a bag or 2 for your trash. There are no garbage cans in the park.
  • Place was amazing for Pokemon Go. I know some people say some places are good for PGo but this place really was. So many Pokestops, constant stream of people putting down lures and a good selection of pokemon. As for the park aspect of this place. Its waterside so looking out across the river was really nice. It seems like a good place for a morning/afternoon jog! The town its near is historical and has some bars and some antique/gift shops which I didnt get to try out but I wish I would have! Have fun, Explore, and happy PokeHunting!
  • Whenever I need a serene place to go during evening I visit battery park situation in little old town of new castle. They have long walking trail along the river which I always enjoy. Plus you can always go there with friends to enjoy picnic and fishing.
  • Battery Park is the place to be if you're hunting for Pokemon. Not only is it full of pokestops but it also has a beautiful view. There's always people running, walking their dogs, with their children. It makes for a nice park experience.
  • Great place to walk once you get past all the pokemon players. Most of them like standing in the middle of the trail and you have to go around them. Also alot of cigarette butt are around the playground. But a great place for kids to run out their energy
