Landa Falls is the best place to get into the Comal River in New Braunfels. It is the earliest point in the river you can get in. Their tubes are all well maintained and most look like brand new. They're a bright yellow so they don't absorb the heat like a dark tune. There's also no prove difference between one with a bottom or open. They also provide cord you can tie several together with or to tether yourself to your cooler tube. Their shuttle is free and unlimited unlike some other places on the river that charge after the first pickup. Staff where all friendly and helpful.
My daughter and I arrived an hour before closing and we were turned away. The older skinny woman said the river was slow and pickup times were running late. As she is telling me this 4 people were waiting off to the side for their tubes, really??? We went down to Texas Tubes where they happily accommodated us and gave us a military discount, which Landa doesn't do. Needless to say the river was flowing just fine and there were multiple Landa tubes floating BEHIND me and my daughter. I will be using Texas Tubes from now on.
Located on the grounds of the Wurstfest Hall, this is our favorite place to grab toobs on the Comal. The launch location is the easiest, cleanest, and most attractive on the river. Plus it's at the head of the river, so no one offers a longer float than Landa Falls. Prices and service are comparable to the other rental companies.
Little over priced compared to the others around but the tubes were great and it is a bit longer than the others. Get there early so you can float the river twice.
Longest float on the Comal. Not too pricey. Great parking. The exclusive first 45 minutes of floating are the best and you can sometimes feel you have the river to yourselves.
