  • Don't have a boat? Rentals are available but you don't need one to enjoy this fantastic area. You can hike, camp, visit the beaches, bike ride, paddle, etc. And the 4x4 opportunities are here as well. Very scenic up North Shore Road, which is where a few of the off-road trails can be accessed. Don't forget to check out Willow Beach and Temple Bar areas. We are very fortunate to have this gem so close to the Vegas Valley. Limitless opportunities to get your outdoors on!
  • Absolutely amazing experience. This was an impromptu stop while visiting the Hoover Dam. I have nothing negative to say about this park. Was able to rent a boat same day, which was both easy and well-priced. You can go right up to the Hoover Dam in the boat for an amazing view. There are beaches you can take the boat to and get out for a swim, or just jump in for a dip in the middle of the lake whenever you like. It is hot, but significantly cooler on the lake. All of the staff were extremely friendly and helpful. Enjoyed this immensely more than going up to Hoover Dam and dealing with traffic, crowds, and unmitigated heat. There was ample parking and not much of a crowd on our visit which is surprising for the end of June. Recommend to all.
  • Interesting place to stop and get some information on Lake Mead. The folks that work at the recreation area in the information center are very informative, knowledgeable and friendly. There’s an ongoing film that plays in the theater and I believe it starts about every 30 minutes and last about 15. I may be wrong of those times but I know it’s short and starts frequently. It’s a great gift shop with lots of ideas and some great maps even a mock up of the area that’s on a huge table where you can really see the train and everything that’s going on in the area topographically. Also if you need to stop and use the restroom – it’s a great facility. I highly recommend stopping in to get some education
  • Dirty lake. I will NEVER go back. My self and my family all got rashes from here. The water is very dirty, we had no choice but to get in the water cause of the heat. I warn anyone going here. It's filthy. I've heard others say the same thing. But I had to try it out for myself. I wish I wouldn't have wasted my vacation and money here.
  • I grew up around this lake and I've seen its changes over the years. The most dramatic is obviously the water level. Also, it use to be free then they started charging admission. First it was $10, now it's $20. The fee applies even if you are only passing through. It's still a great place to go but it's not worth the $20 access fee! At $10 it's not bad but the lake doesn't offer enough to justify the increased cost of admission.
