  • My colleague and I had a free day during our recent visit for a trade show in Vegas and went for a drive to Lake Mead. It is worth the visit to see the scenery and just to appreciate how large it is a...  more »
  • at that time, in June 2017 temperature in Vegas was +50. In this wilderness think there were more. In a rented car air conditioning didn't work, but it's good that she was riding. Dive into this beautiful body of water is worth it. Clean water, well-groomed Beach, locker room there is only one, but there are. Very hot.

  • Lake Meade is one of the most scenic lakes in the US. It is hard to imagine how large it would be when it is full when looking at it now. Lakeshore Drive which is the first road on the right after lea...  more »

  • Another amazing national park. Take a moment from the strip and check it out. Greatvservices, well maintained and cared for. The park service does amazing work with the little funds they get
  • Awesome landscape and views. The lake is clean. We saw wild burros and lizards. I'm from Minnesota and really enjoyed the park.
  • Rent a boat and explore areas not easily accessible from land. Buy a houseboat and live on the lake inexpensively. The shoreline is rocky you wont find soft sand so you will need shoes to walk down to the water. Avoid July and August its too hot even on the water.
  • Very pretty views. Hoover Dam is nearby. I hope the lake fills up after all of the snow melts in the Rockies.
  • Expensive unless you have an America the Beautiful national parks pass. Beautiful views near Boulder City. The drive around wasn't as impressive. The water level is very low. Las Vegas Bay area doesn't exist anymore.

Where to stay in Boulder City

Staying in one of downtown’s comfortable hotels keeps you close to the town’s stores, restaurants, and museums while on vacation. There are several theme hotels to choose from, reminiscent of Las Vegas’ glitz and playfulness. A motel located on the outskirts of town is often a cheaper option, and will usually provide convenient access to the highway if you are passing through. Many accommodations offer swimming pools, a great way to cool down after a day exploring in the Nevada heat.
