  • The variety of berry wines is fantastic here. Not every flavor suits your taste, but it is fun trying the variety of wines. You will find things here you won't find anywhere.
  • During our wine and apple weekend, my wife and I tried to find some places that were not your typical wineries. Hill Top Berry Winery seemed to fit the bill. When I read the description of which types...  more »
  • Excellent meads! I did not taste the wines, except for the peach, which I thought was just OK. The regular mead and the pear mead are exceptional. I bought bottles to take home. I wasn't impressed by ...  more »

  • I saw a few wine snobs leave in total dissatisfaction, but from the way they were talking there's very little in life they seem to appreciate anyway. It still didn't set a great stage for me walking in. Nevertheless, Hill Top didn't have to do anything but be its own lovely self in order for me to decide that this will be a routine stop in the area for me, along with Blue Toad Cider. A lot of Hill Top's wines are sweet and semi-sweet, but if you can't appreciate at least one of their fruit wines, wine just might not be for you. Then, of course, you can always turn to their selection of AMAZING and more-fairly-priced-than-usual meads. Fair warning: after tasting mead here, Viking's Blood will be total garbage.
  • Found this winery at a VA wine festival and after sampling a couple meads, found them quite delicious. One I found particularly interesting was called Dragon's Breath, which was a mead with smoked hot peppers. If you enjoy honey wine and the like then this winery is right up your alley.
  • If you love mead, this place is perfect. Their meads are all very good and their melomel varieties are unique.
  • Best wines by far! And they treat you like family! A must visit when in the area.
  • I love their wines and the staff is absolutely wonderful. I think my favorite is the Madison. When we attend the garlic and wine festival we skip all the tastings and just go straight to Hilltop for bottles to drink.
