  • This museum provides context for the artifacts uncovered by a landslide at Ozette, and does a wonderful job of combining the science of archaeology with the Native oral histories and culture.

  • For the history and stories alone, you have to take the time. This whaling community distinguished itself by being the only whaling tribe that protected this activity by treaty. The revived canoe culture that has grown up around it is an inspiring story of contemporary survival, even revival, of native cultures and languages that we very nearly wiped out. Taste the dried fish.
