  • Educational and peaceful, a really nice place visit. The LDS folk are very friendly and knowledgeable about their subject and town. We were lucky and saw a classical performance at the visitor centre....  read more »
  • Many houses and old businesses staffed by Mormon couples who explain who lived there and how they did their crafts Historical era was 1840-1856 Best historical tour for many miles
  • Nauvoo is a must do for all Latter-Day-Saints. The restored buildings are as they were in the 1840s. It is a very special place. It's a great place to visit as a member or just as a history buff.
  • LOVED this place!!! Could easily spend two or three days here. Lots of stuff to do and see and learn. All free!! Very kid friendly!
  • Recreation of a historic 19th century town that is important in the development of the Mormon faith. Run by the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, buildings are restored and period items are preserved. Knowledgable guides explain common aspects of life in that time: rope making, bread baking, working blacksmith shop, and more. Lots for me to learn and my young kids loved it.
