  • What a neat place. Many of the animals roam freely around the zoo. You can pet them and feed them. Additionally, they have a collection of animals not seen at most zoo's.  more »

  • This is a great place to go to when you are in the U.P. , we went on Mother's Day (Moms get in for free) and it was great. We were expecting for it to be a very small place and have only a few animals, but we were wrong! We purchased a bag of icecream cones with seeds in the gift shop to feed to the deer, alpacas and goats. They have tons of peacocks running around, even one in the parking lot! If you visit here you will have a great time!
  • A wide variety of zoological creatures in a quaint and serene setting; free roaming birds are a treat for the kids. Many opportunities to feed the critters.
  • Awesome zoo! Very kind staff. They let us stay past close to watch them feed the animals. I had the chance to feed one of their fawns. And the next time we return they offered us to help feed more of the animals. My dream come true! Wish it was closer so I could volunteer. They have a very good variety of animals and all seem happy, considering they're in captivity, and well taken care of. It's not like a normal zoo which makes it unique and a great place to stop if you're in the area.
  • So many animals and a wooded layout
  • A zoo in the U.P.? Our daughter loved this, nice paths, though in doubt they would be very handicap accommodating. The whole zoo makes you feel you are in the middle of the woods...which, I guess, you are.
