  • What a neat place. Many of the animals roam freely around the zoo. You can pet them and feed them. Additionally, they have a collection of animals not seen at most zoo's.  more »
  • A nice variety and interesting mix of animals! Easy access on highway 2. A forest setting with comfortable walking trails provides an opportunity for families to have a fairly close up animal viewing ...  more »

  • Awesome zoo! Very kind staff. They let us stay past close to watch them feed the animals. I had the chance to feed one of their fawns. And the next time we return they offered us to help feed more of the animals. My dream come true! Wish it was closer so I could volunteer. They have a very good variety of animals and all seem happy, considering they're in captivity, and well taken care of. It's not like a normal zoo which makes it unique and a great place to stop if you're in the area.
  • A zoo in the U.P.? Our daughter loved this, nice paths, though in doubt they would be very handicap accommodating. The whole zoo makes you feel you are in the middle of the woods...which, I guess, you are.
  • The up close view and interaction was amazing! This beats the Detroit zoo by a long shot! And the bears are adorable!! But do get greedy when it come to feeding of the apples :) well worth the drive!!
  • Kinda neat. Some of the animals look restless and sad tho. 😢
  • Great outdoors zoo! Small space yet offers the opportunity to view a large variety of animals and interact with them. Highly recommend a visit here in the summer or early fall.
