Natural Bridge Park near Natural Bridge, Alabama, is park in Winston County, Alabama, that has been open since 1954. The current owners are Jim and Barbara Denton.

The park includes picnic accommodations, an artesian well which supplies drinking fountains, a gift shop featuring hand-crafted items, 27 varieties of fern, a variety of hemlock which dates back to the Ice Age and a 30-minute nature trail.

The Natural Bridge formation is 60 ft (18.3 m) high, 148 feet (45 m) long, and composed of sandstone and iron ore.

This bridge is the longest natural bridge east of the Rocky Mountains in North America.

Downhill from the natural bridge is an outcropping of rock, presenting the image of a large American Indian head, in the right profile view, similar to that of an old American Indian Head nickel (see photo). The stone image is just over 15 feet (4.6 m) high.

As of 2015, admission cost $3.50 for adults. Because of insurance concerns, visitors are not allowed to walk over the bridge, but instead, they view it while walking underneath.
The park is open from 8:00 A.M. until sunset seven days a week.

  • Such a beautiful fun place to go! The fee is only $3.50 and the bridge is only about 100 yards away from the check in area. There is an additional optional 3/4 mile hike that goes past the bridge and explores a ton of other natural features further up the canyon with some caves, small waterfalls and a nice creek. Honestly a super beautiful place, and I will definitely come back another time. If you are in to geology, this place is a must see. So many amazing things to see.
  • Absolutely stunning place! We did the trail portion and it definitely added to our experience -- just gorgeous. It is super buggy, so bring spray! It was also good to go on a weekday as it wasn’t busy at all - we walked/hiked the whole trail alone and only saw a few people at the gift shop. The gift shop was really cute! Overall, it was a hidden gem in Alabama!
  • This is our second visit to Natural Bridge and it’s got to be the best deal for $3.50 for sightseeing in 100 miles! The bridge and cave is beautiful. The gift shop is funky, old fashioned and fun. The trail after the bridge is nice. The trail closest to the bridge has two trees down across the path, but if you take the further out path, you can walk a nice 1 mile loop trail. This is not a handicap accessible trail, lots of roots, rocky steps and bridges raised higher than a normal step, but it’s a lovely walk in the woods following a small creek with little waterfalls along the way. Enjoy!
  • Such a stunning and relaxing place for an adventure. We were coming through to see The Ramp School of Ministry and stopped here after a llloooong car ride. We enjoyed it so much! Prepare to feel small and have the urge to take many photos
  • This was such a fun outing with our kids. The walk is short and very easy and the bridge is beautiful! You get to walk through the little "cave" area that passes under the bridge. It's also very inexpensive. We had a blast!
