  • We had a great time walking through this museum. Saw loads of interesting things. Well worth the visit.  more »
  • Lots of fun facts and memorabilia here from all the great country stars. We easily spent several hours here enjoying all the presentations.  more »
  • This is definitely a hidden gem right in the heart of Nashville. The museum is filled with so much history about musicians and the men and women behind the scenes of the music that helped make a hit. ...  more »

  • Unless you're intimately familiar with music from the 60s and the studio musicians who performed it, you won't get anything from this museum. It's a disorganized mess of artifacts that doesn't attempt to tell any story or in any way connect these musicians with each other or their music you may know. Only some of their credits are listed and there is no opportunity to actually listen to any of that music. As someone who was born in the 80s, I didn't know what 95 percent of the songs were (by name at least). The interactive Grammy portion might be fun for kids, but for adults it is literally a "fill in the blanks" mad libs exercise. That some of the exhibits were broken and that they were out of museum maps didn't help. For the exorbitant price, I expected a much larger, professionally designed museum, not the basement of an events center with (admittedly cool) old instruments with long paragraphs of text on them. They could also make more of an effort to include other genres besides country, rock, and motown; or perhaps some more women and minorities. This completely fails at being a museum. I love museums, even weird and boring ones, but this place needs a price cut and a complete revamp to make it more than a cabinet of curiosities. (Also, please pick up some of the trash on the ground in the lobby!)
  • I had a fun time but I really expected more from this museum. Most of it was just instruments from certain musicians. The interactive stuff was cool, but the rest was just alright.
  • Awesome place. Well worth the money. One of the best music museums in the country. Very interactive and has wonderful exhibits. Will definitely return on next trip to Nashville.
  • So cool. The interactive learning at the end was so fun. We got to try out making different parts of an album!
  • My son and I visited this museum on impulse and ended up spending nearly 5 hours there. Incredible collection of the real instruments used in famous concerts and studio recordings. Recognition for those behind the scene as well. The interactive part of the museum gives visitors a chance to play different instruments, song write and do studio recording. As we were leaving we met the events coordinator, the curator and the man who had the vision to create this Hall of Fame; and we even got a personalized look at a recently acquired drum set from the stage at Woodstock. I highly recommend this museum for anyone and all music genres.

Where to stay in Nashville

Go to the city center to choose from a selection of hotels lining the streets parallel to the Cumberland River, where most options fall into the mid-range or luxury category and offer swimming pools. Just a stone's throw to the north is the Arts District, where you can stay in a similarly luxurious hotel and find yourself in the thick of the city's live music scene. If you're after great food and trendy cafes, look farther north to the regenerated neighborhood of Germantown.
