  • I've been to a number of Civil War sites, and I would rank Fort Negley as average. It is definitely not in the same category as Shiloh or some of the other more famous sites.  more »
  • Great place to hike and learn about history. The visitor center guide was really friendly and he offered to start a video about the history of Nashville and Fort Negley. Awesome view of Nashville from...  more »
  • Five moon visit to the only left yesterday. Quick 10 minute visit. Free parking. There are little plaques with info set up to appreciate some of the history.  more »

  • Great view..great for a hike & workout! Love the history here!
  • Fantastic place to start a Civil War tour of Tennessee and the South. A massive fort with a beautiful view of the city. Be sure and check the hours of operation before you plan your trip if you want to include the visitor center.
  • Great information and a wonderful movie. This can be a quick hour stop that is well worth the visit. Staff is super knowledgeable and helpful. They have more information on local events and other sites than most other locations. They also sponsor wonderful Civil War talks. Love this place! The fort itself needs restoration help.
  • The DVD preview is very dated almost felt like an SNL parody except it's not. Visit center is nice and clean it's free and open space so watch the weather report
  • The guide Tracy Harris really knows his stuff. I was impressed with the swath of knowledge he possesses. He was helpful, informative, and down to earth.
