Nature / Park Jogging Path
Today a large, popular park, the original purpose of Centennial Park was to host Tennessee's centennial exposition in 1897. The main attraction of the park, and one of the most famous exhibits of the exposition, is the Parthenon replica. Explore inside this full-scale reproduction, then visit the art center for some more modern creative works. You can walk or jog the short trail or play volleyball in another area. You'll find plenty of spots for relaxing, such as the sunken garden. If you need to catch up with friends or family, the park features free Wi-Fi access. Our Nashville trip builder makes visiting Centennial Park and other Nashville attractions simple, and helps you make a travel plan personal to you.

  • I love Centennial Park! It's a great place to walk, run, bike, or hang out. Being centrally located, you can easily spend the day around the park and find plenty of food options nearby. On Saturdays during the summer, the park hosts Musicians Corner, a free live music show with food trucks and a bier garden. There's also the Big Band Dance under the pavilion (summer) where you can learn how to swing dance for free. Be sure to visit the Parthenon to see the art and history housed inside. There are also 2 Nashville B-Cycle stations in the park for renting bikes cheaply.
  • Historic Nashville tradition. Has the only full size replica of the Parthenon in the world which is also an art Museum and has a full size reproduction of the statue of Athena that stood in the original Parthenon. Beautiful walking paths, duck pond and sunken garden. Every kid within 60 miles of it has been there at least once on a field trip. Don't go if Vanderbilt has a home game because traffic is a nightmare!
  • I have loved Centennial Park since I was a child in the late fifties. It has played a part of my stories through every era of my life. Great festivals, art exhibits, creative workshops, live music and lots of beautiful landscapes. And now I get to play with my grandson on the playgrounds. Life is beautiful!
  • Very nice park to walk or bike around. Beautiful view and scenery. The Art festival was very well organized. We luck out and enjoyed the live music.
  • Centennial Park is always a great time! We went in the afternoon and the weather was lovely! We were able to lay our blankets out under some amazing trees that line the front side of the park. There were lots of people there enjoying the day. Since the park is so large there was still plenty of room for everyone without the feeling of being on top of each other.

Where to stay in Nashville

Stay in downtown, midtown, the west end, or near Vanderbilt to be at the center of it all in Nashville. You'll find plenty of boutique hotels and major chains in all of these areas, which give you great access to the downtown music scene and beyond. While you can find a bit of everything in downtown Nashville, from larger hotels to apartment rentals, keep in mind that more affordable, and often quainter, options are located further from Broadway. Travelers looking to spend most of their time at the Grand Ole Opry should consider accommodations in the Opryland or Music Valley area near the airport.
