Nature / Park Jogging Path
Today a large, popular park, the original purpose of Centennial Park was to host Tennessee's centennial exposition in 1897. The main attraction of the park, and one of the most famous exhibits of the exposition, is the Parthenon replica. Explore inside this full-scale reproduction, then visit the art center for some more modern creative works. You can walk or jog the short trail or play volleyball in another area. You'll find plenty of spots for relaxing, such as the sunken garden. If you need to catch up with friends or family, the park features free Wi-Fi access. • While many people visit the park to step inside the Parthenon, the entire park is worth spending time in. Lots of places to walk through, amazing flower gardens, swings for all ages to sit in, a HUGE ...  more »
  • We visited it just yesterday. Totally not what we expected! The Parthenon is right in the middle, with a pond on the right. There was music and few couples doing a tango. Few chairs were placed to sit...  more »
  • If you are touring in Nashville, you have to go to this park, if only to take the Parthenon. Our hotel was about 4 blocks away so it was a great running destination one morning as well as an enjoyable...  more »

  • I love Centennial Park! It's a great place to walk, run, bike, or hang out. Being centrally located, you can easily spend the day around the park and find plenty of food options nearby. On Saturdays during the summer, the park hosts Musicians Corner, a free live music show with food trucks and a bier garden. There's also the Big Band Dance under the pavilion (summer) where you can learn how to swing dance for free. Be sure to visit the Parthenon to see the art and history housed inside. There are also 2 Nashville B-Cycle stations in the park for renting bikes cheaply.
  • Centennial Park is always a great time! We went in the afternoon and the weather was lovely! We were able to lay our blankets out under some amazing trees that line the front side of the park. There were lots of people there enjoying the day. Since the park is so large there was still plenty of room for everyone without the feeling of being on top of each other.
  • Very cool spot in the middle of Nashville. The Parthenon was beautiful and they had two pretty big playgrounds for the kids. Started raining so I didn't have as much time as I would've liked there but overall awesome place.
  • I have two children (6 and 1.5) we visited Friday to find happy college students doing a 24 hour scavenger hunt. We played baseball. They cheered us on. We were serenaded by a ukulele. We flew several kites given to us from strangers (new friends.) The Parthenon has a kids activities every Saturday at 11am lasting approximately an hour including crafts and music. It's an enjoyable place. Rain or shine.
  • Nice park with lots of space to walk. Even large numbers of people can be nicely distributed and not in late bunches. Great place in the city to walk and see nature.
