  • Well done movie! Very helpful and informative guides. Grounds / buildings are well taken care of. Only thing that I would change is to give a small tour outside the house as you walk out of the house....  more »

  • My wife and I just visited Andrew Jackson's Hermitage today, 12-18-17. Both of us love history, and the Hermitage does an excellent job of detailing the life of former president Andrew Jackson (he is on our $20 bills). We took the "Presidential Tour" which was excellent. You receive earphones and an easy to use device that lets you listen to all sorts of history at various points around the huge estate. The museum was great, the movie professional and the tour of the huge mansion was fabulous! Don't miss the Hermitage! Paul & Janice
  • The home is included and the base ticket price. The Mansion is a beautiful walkthrough tour with a tour guide and a group that you moved through the house with. Photos are allowed & they encourage questions. Unless you buy the tickets for the carriage tour, which I suggest, or the garden tour tickets the rest is just walk through on your own. When you buy your general admission you are given a little recorder that allows you to press in the numbers of the area you're at to hear information about that section of the property. My personal suggestion it should do the upgraded package, the little handset you have gives you some pictures to learn about the property more
  • Great place to see America's history Had a lot of fun The docents are super cool and know a lot of information See the bed or chair that Andrew Jackson used . The museum has a ton items that are tied to Andrew Jackson or his family. I learned a lot about the history of Andrew Jackson. Audio tour guide was super fun. Be sure to check out gift shop to remember your trip. There is also a cutie little cafe to have lunch or afternoon tea. Be sure to see Andrew Jackson's tomb and the horses and livestock throughout the grounds.
  • My grandsons and I enjoyed our day thoroughly at the Hermitage. It was easy to find our way through the exhibits and mansion since the the guides were so friendly and knowledgeable. The experience made history about Andrew Jackson come alive. I would recommend going to the Hermitage to anyone interested in understanding American History.
  • Very clean, very polite people, worth the money. It was a very informative tour that laid out General Jackson’s best and worst hits. This man accomplished quite a bit during his life and it was a very enlightening experience. We went in December and I wish we visited in the spring as there is quite a nice garden there that would have been great in full bloom.

Where to stay in Nashville

Go to the city center to choose from a selection of hotels lining the streets parallel to the Cumberland River, where most options fall into the mid-range or luxury category and offer swimming pools. Just a stone's throw to the north is the Arts District, where you can stay in a similarly luxurious hotel and find yourself in the thick of the city's live music scene. If you're after great food and trendy cafes, look farther north to the regenerated neighborhood of Germantown.
