  • Great place for kids to learn hands on about science. We took our grandkids ages 10 an 12. There was so much there for them to do and learn for kids of all ages. Staff was really friendly. We spent mo...  more »
  • This is a great science museum for kids. Our family has been at least a dozen of these in the US and Canada and for a small city this is a very good one. Lots of things arranged by topic (human body, ...  more »
  • Took my 3 year old grandson here while we were in town for an event. He had a blast, although some things he was too young for. Still there was plenty to keep him busy for several hours.  more »

  • The best part of this science center is the multi story playground boasting amazing views. My son's favorite part was the slide, which is easily the biggest slide I've ever seen! There is also a modest toddler area, a small outerspace section, and a fun interactive human body section among a few other small attractions. There is a Subway that overlooks the city in the building if you get hungry while exploring. This is definitely a fun place to bring kids of any age.
  • Lots of fun. We saw one of the musical planetarium light shows. It was a lot of fun very interesting. Last time I was there it looks like they're doing some remodeling for even more fun for the family. My grandson Reese also loves the place. Keep up the good work, you're doing great.
  • Great place to bring the kids for an afternoon. The museum is super interactive and teaches children all about the human body, the solar system, geology and plenty more. There's even a virtual reality game that teaches you how skyscrapers are built, which is aimed at kids but fun for adults as well. A few tips: definitely do the VR game but wait for the line to die down. Even though 6 people can play at once in separate rooms, the game is 5-10 minutes so you can easily wait a half hour if the line is long. Also, take your kids to the moonwalk simulator. It only lasts 90 seconds but kids go nuts for it! Finally, definitely visit the tinker garage, where kids and adults can build cars, windmills, and other odds and ends from wood, nails and recycled products. But go there early - if you go towards the end of the day, you may risk running out of time and only getting your creations half built! A great place overall. Science rocks!
  • The best Science Museum for children I have ever been to! I'm from Chicago, so that's saying a lot. My 3 year old absolutely loved it! My husband and I also enjoyed playing with some if the exhibits. What made it EVEN BETTER for us is that we got in free with our membership to our local museum. I definitely can't wait to visit if we are ever in the area again.
  • What a neat place. Momma and I (old folks) decided to see what is so great about this place. Turns out to be an excellent educational entertainment complex. There are displays regarding everything scientific and the Center succeeds nicely in making it entertaining as well as educational. Though not exactly attractive for the geriatric set it is wonderful for family outings that are both fun and teaching opportunities. Bragging moment - I lifted a whole car!

Where to stay in Nashville

Go to the city center to choose from a selection of hotels lining the streets parallel to the Cumberland River, where most options fall into the mid-range or luxury category and offer swimming pools. Just a stone's throw to the north is the Arts District, where you can stay in a similarly luxurious hotel and find yourself in the thick of the city's live music scene. If you're after great food and trendy cafes, look farther north to the regenerated neighborhood of Germantown.
