4.0
#2 of 8 in Childrens Museums in Tennessee
Science Museum Museum
Get ready to experience science first-hand at Adventure Science Center with more than 200 hands-on exhibits. While the exhibits are geared toward children, adults often join the fun--more than 300,000 people visit every year. You'll find displays about beekeeping, the human body, space, biology, and more. A planetarium provides an introduction to the skies and daily laser shows. Tickets to the planetarium are sold separately at the science center's reception desk, where you also can ask about showtimes. If you arrive within two hours of closing, you could receive a discounted ticket for a quick tour. Adventure Science Center is just one of the many highlights you can arrange to see using our online itinerary creator, Nashville Edition.

Where to stay in Nashville

Stay in downtown, midtown, the west end, or near Vanderbilt to be at the center of it all in Nashville. You'll find plenty of boutique hotels and major chains in all of these areas, which give you great access to the downtown music scene and beyond. While you can find a bit of everything in downtown Nashville, from larger hotels to apartment rentals, keep in mind that more affordable, and often quainter, options are located further from Broadway. Travelers looking to spend most of their time at the Grand Ole Opry should consider accommodations in the Opryland or Music Valley area near the airport.

  • I brought my 20 year old boyfriend here in his birthday and we had a blast. Of course this place is made for kids, so if you don't like lots of noise and children running everywhere, it's probably not...  more »
  • We love sciences museums and this one of our favorite. My kids loved the hands on exhibits. I will say that if you have teenagers over the age of 14 don't take them.  more »
  • Really disappointed with this museum, I think the reviews are very generous as the exhibits are very basic, even for small children, perhaps it works well to bring some amusement during a rainy aftern...  more »

  • Awesome place! So much to see and do and learn whether your a toddler or an adult. Of course it's aimed more towards children and teens, but it's still a GREAT place as an adult. It's fun, interactive, and educational! Not much better you can get :) I've been there with my family many times and we love it every time! What's awesome is that they get new temporary exhibits all the time so you get something new whenever you go next. And I also love their membership package cause when you pay, it's good for over 300 science centers across world! Overall GREAT place and we plan to go back many more times!
  • Interesting exhibits and demonstrations. It was a little more child-oriented than I would have liked, but still fun. We bought a year membership for a reasonable price and are looking forward to seeing the planetarium and attending some of the 21+ evening events.
  • Wonderful way to spend time in nashville with a 4 and a half year old. His half birthday celebration was a blast! We will definitely be bringing him back. The whole family especially loved the show in the planetarium. Highly recommend!
  • Super fun adventures to be had here! Very hands on and interactive, good for most all age groups -and educational! I went for the first time as an adult on a date and we had fun! Bathrooms are well placed throughout the building. Parents can participate in the fun as much as they'd like but there's ample their kids can do independently.
  • Fun time for the family. Great way to use up a summer day, and keep kids entertained. Subway restaurant within for quick bites. Wasn't enthused that the more fun items cost extra to take part in.
