  • If you are looking for a "rustic" experience, this will work for you. I was not a big fan myself. My first red flag was there being only one outlet in the bathroom and one outlet in the bedroom. The bathroom was pretty outdated. Each time I used the restroom I just cross my fingers hoping the toilet would flush and sometimes took several tries. The sink had no counter space to put any items. The vanity had a small mirror hung way too high. The benches on the porch had splinters that immediately lodged into my back and legs as soon as I sat down. Overall, it just want what I want in an overnight stay. The lady there seemed nice enough and breakfast seemed good, though I did not have any. If you are going for rustic this will be perfect for you. The property is pretty.
  • It is a very beautiful original plantation house with a great story. The tour is wonderful. The driveway is a little bumpy tho.
  • The experience at Madewood Plantation House was wonderful. Angie is awesome. She prepared the breakfasts and dinners and puts love and heart into her cooking. She spent time with each guest, was very helpful with directions and activity planning, and the rest of the staff was so sweet. The house is full of character and beautiful warmth. Cleo (the house dog) greets you with a wagging tail and will guide you to your room! I LOVED it. I recommend this place to anyone. We had a room with a front balcony and the grounds are breathtaking. It has a family feel and we me three other couples and had a wonderful time visiting. I would love to come back!!!!!
  • We booked at Madewood after looking quite a bit into the different plantation hotels and B&B's.We were three adults, looking for two bedrooms. The plantation offers several rooms that actually include two bedrooms with one bath for the same cost. A great option for us. We were not disappointed. We stepped back in time in this very tastefully renovated mansion, that has kept all his history and charm. The park is wonderful and the rooms still look and feel as if the original owners lived there. Angie's (the plantation manager) hospitality and cuisine are generous. We have tasted a full range of southern dishes perfectly cooked and presented, and enjoyed the complimentary wine and cheese before the dinner and brandy in the parlor after. What a great time we had! We cannot recommend Madewood Plantation enough.
  • Simply the most authentic and beautiful antebellum home on the Mississippi.
