  • Amazing nature rescue habitat. Feed the exotic birds and learn about their habits. Even go inside one of the aviaries with huge, brightly colored parrots who love attention. Donations highly recommended and gladly accepted. No charge for the two hour tour.
  • An amazing place to tour. The Bird Gardens is a fun and educational place to visit. The birds are cared for and loved. The grounds are enchanting.
  • The people there take care of injured Birds and they work really hard and really cool place to visit beautiful exotic birds
  • I meet kerie years ago while she was going through foreclosure and bankrupts in New Port Richie. I rented them my house on 9 acres in Gainesville very cheap for several years so they could keep their birds and not end up on the street. I have over 15 years experience breeding rare and endangered species. I am not an inexperienced volunteer. When they found a place in Naples they asked me to move there with my birds, which I did. After living on the premise for about 3 years on a quid pro quo basis, meaning I put several hours a day working on the property, in addition to running the place for 6 weeks while they went on extended vacations. I can tell you with 100% certainty everything is not as it appears at the Bird Gardens. There are many many problems that were not addressed, but because they rent the property and it's her dog and pony show, I had little say in how it was managed. For years the birds only had sulfur water to drink, rats regularly getting into cages and killing and eating birds... more than I care to remember... and little was done to prevent it... along with the rats, birds were mismatched, placed in cages they should not have been, and birds were overcrowded in cages...and died because of it...dead birds were usually removed before the tours so no one would know.....but what really changed my opinion of keri was when I couldn't get a squirrel out of an large empty cage. Keri told me she would take care of it. She got into the cage with a 2x4 and bludgeoned the poor squirrel to death for no reason except she doesn't like squirrels. And rats... she told me he likes to inflict pain on them as she kills them with a long pointed nail like stick... she said she likes to make them suffer when they die....she would say they are just tree rats you know.... people would give her chickens and peacocks, and a couple days later they would be dead, because she did not take precautions against predators, (she would say its nature's way)... and the preferred method of separating fighting pit bulls?... 2x4's... hit them often enough and hard enough and they will stop.... and if she couldn't give a pitbull away... she would take it out back and have a volunteer shoot it... and lets not forget the baby chicks, ducklings, and baby peacocks the hens hatch... she uses them to feed the hawks... over a 100 that I know of have been lost to wild hawks because that's the way she wants it... she would not give them away or let anyone house them properly....and this is the person people donate 1000's of dollars to.. she's a brutal person, some would say a narasitic socialpath.... that has no business owning animals... Yes everything seems nice to people who don't know anything about birds during the tours, but a knowledgeable bird person would see the problems.. I do feel bad about her husband having cancer, but had he went to the doctor when he started having problems instead of waiting 2 years, there was a 99% chance he could have been cured.... they had insurance... IMO they are very irresponsible about many many things...now keri is making money off of her husbands illness... I know many of you will think this is not true since keri appears to be such a wonderful person... Yes when there is money to be made she is very nice... Socialpaths can be both nice and ruthless... she uses people then tosses them away... she has lied about me, physically and verbally abused me, threaten me with violence, and someone did some property damage.. Other people there know all this is true but their loyalty or fear, prevents them from speaking the truth. I wonder how they sleep at night. From what I have seen and experienced, her evil side is extensive and concealed. If you would see it in action you would not donate one penny to her... she should be arrested for animal abuse and more.
  • Listen guys I came after the storm to volunteer I have known Carrie for a little while, she is a great trainer, keeps an outstanding environment for the birds and really truly loves what she does....one of the few non profits that actually makes a difference.......for bird people the birds are part of our family and family goes a long way with the bird garden of Naples every bird has it's own story some sad some not so much but everyone of them are now in a loving healthy home and part of a family something Alot of them never had... You have to truly love what you do to maintain this field and she stays on top of it constantly all in all I have bin to Alot of sanctuary's and this one is set up specifically with each bird in mind and it's habitat which is what I like to see and also it's cleaned constantly she runs the best organization I have seen yet hands down and I am proud to call them my family...
