The sanctuary and its owner, Keriellen are amazing! Awesome tour! Fun and informative for all ages. Love that we were able to enter a cage to interact and hold some of the birds. Others were in cages ...  more »

This was such a great experience for my whole family from 7 years old to 90. The owner was extremely knowledgeable and spent a great deal of time showing the whole group around and explaining everything. You could tell she had so much love for her birds and sanctuary. Would highly recommend this. Bring a lot of brown skinned almonds and cash for a donation. She does not charge and keeps it running by donation only.

After volunteering and living on the premise for about 3 years on a quid pro quo basis I can tell you with 100% certainty everything is not as it appears at the Bird Gardens. For years the birds only had sulfur water to drink, rats regularly getting into cages and killing and eating birds... more than I could kept track of... and little was done to prevent it... birds were mismatched, placed in cages they should not have been, and died because of it... but they were usually removed before the tours so no one would know.... what really changed my opinion was when I couldn't get a squirrel out of an large empty cage. But Keri took care of it. She got into the cage with a 2x4 and bludgeoned the squirrel to death for no reason except she does't like squirrels. And rats... she told me he likes to inflict pain on them as she kills them with a long pointed nail like stick... she likes to make them suffer when they die....they are just tree rats you know.... people would give her chickens and peacocks, and a couple days later they would be dead, since she did not take precautions against predators, (it's nature's way)... and the preferred method of separating fighting pit bulls?... 2x4's... hit them enough and they will stop.... and if you can't give a pitbull away... take it out back and shoot it... and lets not forget the baby chicks and baby peacocks the hens hatch... she uses them to feed the hawks... over a 100 that I know of have been lost to wild hawks because that's the way she wants it... she would not let anyone house them properly....and this is the person people donate 1000's of dollars to.. she's a brutal person that has no business owning animals... I certainly hope enough people will see the light and come forward, instead of giving her donations. I do feel bad about Griff having cancer, he's was a friend... but had he went to the doctor when he he started having problems instead of waiting 2 years, there was a 99% chance he could have been cured. But they decided not to have it check out... another bad decision... but now keri is making money on it... and I know many of you will think these are lies, ... I don't have to lie, the truth is damaging enough... and this is just the tip of the iceberg... they have abuse me, threaten me with violence, and I know there's more to come. Keep giving them money, they are going to need it for lawyers.

One of the most remarkable and wonderful places I have ever been these people have rescued and care for over three hundred parrots and take care of them in what amounts to a large outdoor garden. They have quarenteend areas where contagious sick birds can live out their lives happy. The level of commitment is literly lifelong for both the birds and the owner herself. Go see this place, and make donations if you can, the tours she gives are incredibly educational and are also a lot of fun.

Awesome and beautiful birds. Helped as a volunteer and learned more and more about the animals. The tours are amazing.

Truly something to see! Knowledgeable staff and volunteers and taken gray care to provide for and show off tons of beautiful birds. The free flight area is incredible, feeding gorgeous tropical birds out of your hand is fun! The nose level can get crazy if the birds get to talking. Great place for kids to see and learn. Wear bug spray and bring unsalted whole almonds. Plus your camera. Tours by donation, which is a great act of kindness.
