  • We are consumers of ZD and enjoy their Pinots particularly. First visit to winery was a real disappointment. Without exception, their staff from top to bottom were offhand and unhelpful, queries (incl...  read more »
  • We are in ZDs First Taste wine club. The tasting was great and the outside and inside tasting areas were really nice. I really enjoy ZD wines. Our hostess was terrific. We had a hyper 2 year with us a...  read more »
  • We had our tasting out on the terrace, which was wonderful. For me ZD was one of the better tastings we had in terms of wine quality, I'm going to keep my eyes open for their bottles on the shelf now....  read more »
  • Fine, but not nearly as passionate as the guys at Frog's Leap around the corner, who were dead keen and happy to explain the wine making and history in great detail over an extended period of time for $25, rather than ZD's $40 (ex-tax). Our chap at ZD was nice enough but didn't seem bothered to say more than a brief explanation of the blend. Considering we were about the only people there, this didn't seem to make sense. If you think of ZD as more low-key and family-run, you won't be too disappointed (we did and weren't) but don't expect anything too personal or sophisticated. The wines were pretty good but not outstanding. The tasting room balcony is nice, overlooking Caymus wines.
  • The tasting room is quite small and charming here. The terrace is being renovated for this summer. The hosts really know their wines and can help you plan the next few days/trips. Wonderful experience
  • We have visited countless wineries in this region. While the ZD tasting property is on extraordinary grounds, these folks have lost site of what made them and that is people who love great wine. Out of all our visits for this particular weekend, we were most disappointed here. It feels like this winery is focused on the benefit of lucrative tasting meaning high dollar tasting fees. In fact, you will pay a whopping $40 for a 2 wrist taste of a flight that is somewhat sub par AND YOU DO NOT PASS GO ( THE GROUND FLOOR) until your money is collected. The patio is nice and affords a 2nd floor property view but look down, and you have an ordinary commercial parking lot. All in your money for the humble wineries who offer a complex blend while keeping things real. Gallo potential here if they do not take a step back and re- engineer genuine. On a lighter note the gentleman who conducted the tasting on floor 2 was a delight but more abou the blend than sharing deep history. .
  • Some friends traveled with us to Napa where we experienced a private tour at ZD Winery. Rafael Llamas provided the tour and educated/entertained us. The beauty of property and tasting room amazed us. An excellent setting to enjoy fine wine with friends. Rafael paired some dark chocolate with a Cab, which our friend Catherine had never fully experienced. The look on her face when the taste buds kicked in was priceless. We even met the Wine Maker Chris Pisani. We highly recommend a tour at ZD and ask for Rafael! Sincerely, Kevin
  • Seriously best chardonnay, esp for the price. Always so friendly and we just love it here. Basic tasting room but wines will exceed your expectations... Try it!!!
