4.2/5 based on 180+ reviews on the web
In 1968, the Trefethen family purchased seven farms surrounding a magnificent, but run-down, 19th-century winery in southern Napa Valley and created Trefethen Family Vineyards. At the time, there were fewer than 30 working wineries in the Napa Valley. True to the family’s original vision of creating a classic wine estate, they have never purchased outside grapes. Instead, they take extraordinary care of their two sustainably farmed estate vineyards in the Oak Knoll District of Napa Valley. Today, after 40 years, the Trefethen family’s third generation, Loren and Hailey, assist their parents in continuing the family tradition of passion for the land, its people and the art of crafting exceptional Napa Valley wines.

  • Maybe we are getting to be wine snobs, but the wines we tasted here were average, in our opinion. Trish, our host, was great and did everything she could to keep us happy.
  • Five star all around. People, vineyard, grounds and best of all their wine is amazing! Make an appt to get in otherwise your on stand-by and it's very iffy. Be nice and kind and they will take great c...  read more »
  • My wife and I had a wonderful visit and wine tasting... so much so that we joined their Wine club. Love their wines and their reserve cab is terrific.
  • For most of those whose wine recognition skills are negligible it won't make a difference but it's a welcoming experience. The ones who have a basic knowledge will find it worthwhile an the experienced will fully enjoy.
  • Small but friendly place. Because of the earthquake in 2014, a tent was open in the front. But we did get a tour of the place, and future upgrades to the place. I'll definitely come back once the new enhancements are complete.
  • Amazing wine and a very nice vineyard to visit. John and Lorenzo are great and so passionate about what they do. Can't wait to go back!
  • EXCELLENT wine, bought 12 bottles because we loved them so much!
