The market promotes sustainable agriculture and eating local foods, and it aims to improve the food culture through education and community. You'll find foods like crepes, fresh produce, cheeses, seafood, fresh bread, wine, beer, and much more. You can shop for meal components, including fresh vegetables, meat, or fish, or opt for a full meal from one of the artisan cafes. • The atmosphere was so friendly, so small town, and all the kiosks offered unique and handmade or homegrown items. They were local items that you could not find elsewhere and the place was extremely crowded with parking that was hard to find. There were so many people that came to this area that they even have bike rentals to see the surrounding area which included a river and the historic area. If you do not wish to take a bike you could have hopped on a bus for a tour. The food options were numerous and absolutely delicious where we ate. The prices ranged from inexpensive two moderately expensive and all ranges of Ages would enjoy visiting here. I highly recommend stopping by here if you're in the area.
  • If you're looking for something delicious to eat or drink then you may find it here. Looking around the Oxbow Public Market may require an hour or two if you stop to eat. Try something from each restaurant and you might be there all day! Gift wise you'll find the Oxbow Public Market has nearly the same items at the wine shops. There are unique items here, but few.
  • Awesome marketplace featuring lots of vendors, from an oyster bar to a local distillery. Right on the river, great place to spend half a day... Or a whole day if you drink right!
  • Love this place! We had lunch at the Cheese and Wine Merchant, then browsed the diverse shops. Great spot to snag unique gifts. Every shop owner was excited to show off their wares. Napa Valley Distillery is a must stop; a wild assortment of bitters and uniquely crafted cocktails.
  • Interesting place to check-out if you are in the Napa area. Restaurants, booths and shops constantly change - old ones go out and new ones come in. This makes it a good place to visit a few times a year for me. Bring your money, nothing is cheap in here.

Where to stay in Napa

To explore North America's largest wine-growing region and remain close to fine dining and shopping, consider staying at a bed and breakfast located in downtown Napa. Many centrally located inns offer spacious rooms with fireplaces, free Wi-Fi, and on-site swimming pools. If you don't mind splurging, consider staying at one of the wine valley's lavishly furnished villas, many of which feature private lakes and access to a network of scenic hiking trails. You can also go all out at a luxury resort located in a picturesque vineyard setting.
