Domaine Carneros, Napa

(4.1/5 based on 1,000+ reviews on the web)
Taste the sparkling Pinot Noir at Domaine Carneros, or enjoy a cheese plate and a tour around the château. Both the château and the production area are constructed in the French style, making this a more Old World experience than you'll find at other California wineries. For some extra decadence, limousines are available for hire. Almost all of the fruit processed here comes from estate vineyards, and it’s all certified organic. • Beautiful place, lovely views, great service, delicious cheese trays and wonderful sparkling wines! I highly recommend Domaine Carneros!
  • The wine here was pretty good! Had a great view. Get the caviar! Also take a photo with the gigantic wine bottles!
  • If you enjoy bubby...this is the spot! After 2 full days of wine tours and talking with local winemakers- everyone agreed this is where you get you sparking wines in Napa (even the locals). The spot i...  more »

  • Some people complain that this spot is a "business" with tons of people. I agree it is slightly annoying to have to share with so many people. However the views are nice and the sparkling wines and food options (while small) are good quality. Not a bad spot to stop if you have an hour to spare. The staff who check-in are always annoying especially when they try to decipher whether you are a member or non-member. However, after dealing with them the staff who serve the wines are usually pretty nice and helpful. I have had a nice time on each visit. It's not an intimate spot but still worth a stop if you arent short on time and feeling up for a nice view and glass of bubbles.
  • Okay, but not anything special. The best thing is the building and view - outside is best unless you are a club member. Service indoors for non club members just okay. First server nice then left with two others replacing. Nothing made me want to become a member, no one said goodbye when we left. Maybe the tour is a better experience.
  • Been here twice this year with family & friends, but can't recommend the sit-down meal. The winery is simply over-hyped. With the price I've paid to eat here, I would have declined if I knew how loud the volume level was inside. I don't know if it's people being loud because they are drunk, or just that there's too many people in a small room - but it's impossible to have a conversation with anyone at the same table as you. And we're talking about coffee table sizes here, so your dinner guests are very close to you. The food and wine are delicious, especially the sparkling white. Expect to pay around $30-45 for one glass of wine and a small cheese sampler. The cheeses were from Cowgirl Creamery both times I went. Would recommend if only the noise level were lower. The architecture and landscaping are stunning, by the way.
  • Completely random visit but sure glad it happened. Hands down one of the best burgers I've ever had. Having traveled the states/world and consider myself a beef connoisseur I can't remember a purely better tasting burger... temperature medium, nice red center.
  • The reason I gave them 3 stars is to average out the good with the bad. Our tour guide, Janna was FANTASTIC. Knowledgeable, friendly, and a great hostess. The product is average to good but over priced. The waiters in the tasting room have no personality and are borderline rude. The small cheese and meat plates could have been a lot better for the price. In summary, pretentious
