Jennette's Pier, Nags Head

4.4
At Jennette's Pier, stroll along the boardwalk and cast your line into the Atlantic Ocean. Originally built in 1939, this pier offers a chance to catch king mackerel, cobia, flounder, and many more species. You can book a stand-up paddle-board tour or private fishing lesson. The new pier and pier house were constructed in 2011 after the original pier's destruction during Hurricane Isabel in 2003. Visit the pier house to see the aquarium and educational exhibits focused on ethical fishing, marine science, and conservation. The area also offers surfing, kite-boarding, outdoor music festivals, and food festivals. Plan to visit Jennette's Pier during your Nags Head vacation using our convenient Nags Head day trip site .

Jennette's Pier is one of the nicer piers in the area. Very well kept. It has a nice little gift shop in there. They do charge a fee to go out on the pier  more »

This is what we call the "fancy pier". Beautiful and clean gift shop and visitors center. Extra long pier with plenty of benches and fish cleaning stations. The atmosphere is always amazing. FUN, FISHING, FAMILY FRIENDLY! Staff are all friendly and really seem to enjoy what they do!

I didn't really even go on the pier, but this is a really good public access point to the beach if people want to go! It has pretty ample parking, but even on not-as-busy months, it's still pretty packed, so I can only imagine summer time. They have a 'shower' area and bathrooms that double as changing rooms, and they're pretty clean.

Excellent place to spend a day at the beach. Tons of parking in the main lot, and there is an overflow parking lot next to Sam & Omie's across the street. Costs a few bucks to walk to the end of the pier... and a few more dollars to go fishing. A few small aquariums located inside along with a gift shop that's stocked with cold beverages and sweet treats.

Very inexpensive for access to fishing on the pier. Staff very informative. Clean restrooms.
