Jennette's Pier, Nags Head

(4.3/5 based on 1,000+ reviews on the web)
At Jennette's Pier, stroll along the boardwalk and cast your line into the Atlantic Ocean. Originally built in 1939, this pier offers a chance to catch king mackerel, cobia, flounder, and many more species. You can book a stand-up paddle-board tour or private fishing lesson. The new pier and pier house were constructed in 2011 after the original pier's destruction during Hurricane Isabel in 2003. Visit the pier house to see the aquarium and educational exhibits focused on ethical fishing, marine science, and conservation. The area also offers surfing, kite-boarding, outdoor music festivals, and food festivals. • Great place to finish or just enjoy being on the ocean. Since it is now part of the NC aquarium, there are fish on display, classes for kids and lots of activities.  more »
  • Close to SurfSide Hotel so able to walk tp pier. Nice store. Weather did not permit for fishing. Pier owned by state of NC and has been updated. Nice aquarium inside.  more »
  • At the end of the day driving around Outer Banks, this is a good pit stop to walk around the pier to enjoy the panoramic view of the ocean.  more »

  • Great pier and beach. Kids will love it. Aquarium inside. Wind turbines. Nice beach and bathroom facilities
  • I'm a very very disappointed local.. As a local I feel like We pay way too much tax money for the bathrooms to look like they do. I can't speak for the men's restroom but the women's was ridiculously disgusting... Not to mention we didn't even have paper towels to dry our hands with. Please work on bathroom cleaning as well as all the liter under the pier. We love our beaches, place keep them clean.
  • Very nice pier. Couple bucks a person to go on the pier it's self. Has an aquarium and a gift shop. Looks like you can rent fishing gear. It's also a green pier with wind turbines.
  • Love fishing here.staff is great and food is good. Also have a nice bath house for beach goers.
  • A locals favorite, it doesn't get much better! There's always something to do, see and enjoy at Jennette's Pier. Be it the East Coast surfing tournaments, beach volleyball tournaments, fishing for beginners and newbie's, or just relaxing in the sun or shade of the pier. One of my favorite events, the annual Surfing for Autism, brings our community together with purpose. With life guards on patrol there is a sense of safety for young families too. Lastly, having your wedding or event at Jennette's Pier, a one-of-a-kind OBX location, is another reason to put them on your must-see list. Michele Bunce, Beth Pallett, Rachael Moser, Daryl Law are just a few of the friendly and helpful staffers at the pier who will guide you in the right direction. Jennette's Pier is all that😀
