1.6/5 based on 440+ reviews on the web
One of Myrtle Beach's secret gems, Waccatee Zoo shelters over 100 species of animals. Established in 1988 to house a private animal collection of a local family, this zoo now includes a 20 hectare (50 acre) viewing area offering visitors a chance to observe both exotic and domestic species including zebras, tigers, lions, leopards, horses, goats, ducks, and peacocks. The natural habitats spread over this wooded property also serve as a breeding ground for many species of migratory birds, which you can see in the tree canopies as you traverse the trails connecting the various exhibits. The zoo's snack bar offers only basic food, so be prepeared with additional fare if you plan to picnic here. For travelers who use our world travel planner, Myrtle Beach holidays become easier to arrange, with trips to the Waccatee Zoo and other attractions mapped out and timetabled.
