State Park
Pitch a tent and swim, go fishing, or hike at Myrtle Beach State Park. The beach is wide and sandy, and the absence of hotels keeps the area quiet compared to typical beach resorts. Plan a picnic, or ride horses. Children can join nature programs and visit the education center that features displays, aquariums, and reptiles. A campsite with 350 spots for tents and RVs is nestled within a maritime forest; six cabins are available for rent. Remember that there are no lifeguards at the beach. • Nice beaches that are clean. Easy access to the beach. The campground is family friendly. All sites have fire pits. All the staff I have met have been very friendly and helpful. It is quiet late at night. Very nice place to stay.
  • It was so beautiful here! We absolutely loved it! For my husband, my son, and I it was $13 to get into the park which wasn't bad. The restrooms were not air conditioned but very clean! The pier was also very clean and well maintained. We saw quite a bit of wildlife. We really enjoyed our trip here!
  • Very nice park and beach. The entrance fee is totally worth it when you compare the parking hassle of the hotel beaches. Also the restrooms are very well placed and again make it convenient for visitors with little ones since public bathrooms are difficult to find around the hotel properties. The store is great and the staff very friendly. Park rangers very pleasant and helpful. SC has a real gem here.
  • I LOVE EVERYTHING ABOUT IT!!!! BESIDES the beach, the entrance was breathtaking. It's the best of both worlds The Forest you drive through to get to the beach. I am gonna check out the trails when my son comes to visit Oh and lastly, the staff that work there are very friendly, informative and just made you feel welcomed! ~❤~
  • Spent 8 days camping in the park and found it to be clean, friendly staff and oh so close to a awesome Beach. Our 4 yr old loved the playgrounds and Beach. We stayed in 3 different camp spots and would suggest avoiding number 13, it should not even be a spot since it has two sewage hookups from other spots in the table area. The outer loops were more private and better bathroom facilities.
