It was our first time ride on jet ski. The guys were very nice and friendly. I'll definitely go again.
Very friendly staff when we called to inquire and at check in. Our jet ski guide was Danny, he made sure we thoroughly understood the machines as well as the guidelines for our safety. He was extremel... read more »
Awesome time on the jet ski tour. First time ever on a jet ski. Guide was very helpful. A couple quick words of advise and we were gone. Loved the winding water trails. Lots of sharp turns. Nothing bo... read more »
One of the best times on the water you can have. I highly recommend this place if you are looking for a jet ski rental in Myrtle Beach. The staff is great and highly knowledgeable. Looking forward to being able to go back and do the boat rental of jet ski safari. Having been back now since this trip they are still just as great. Took my brother and sister out on Jet Ski's as they were down from Ohio visiting and they had a blast.
I reserved two skis for my family the day before. I had called to try to make reservations the day of but they were booked, so I would suggest not doing this at the last minute. We scheduled the two hour safari at 4:00 which was the final excursion of the day. In hindsight, this was perfect as I think it allowed our guides to give us some extra time on the skis. Our tour did start late due to some undisclosed issues with the previous tour, but the staff kept us informed and were appropriately apologetic. When it was our turn, everyone scheduled at that time was led down to the skis and allowed to board, which is when they discussed safety and training. It's a very short presentation, but make sure to pay attention. There's no time later! Operators of the skis must be 16 or older with valid DL. Our 14 yo rode with dad and my 7 yo rode with me. Passengers get the advantage of taking in the scenery, which according to my daughter wasn't very exciting. However, when we hit the wakes or snaking through the waterways (aka "shredding" according to our guides), she LOVED it! I was scared out of my mind I was going to lose her off the back, but she easily held onto my life vest's straps. Once past the no wake zone, it's pretty much throttle out. Communication with others in the group is hand signals only. My daughter could barely hear me when I yelled for her to hold on tight. I personally found the best position of the group was behind the leader because it had the least amount of wake. Later when I ended up 6th in the line, it seemed to be choppier. For the first hour, speeds ranged for our group between 30-40 mph. I am definitely beginner level so it took a bit to relax and feel comfortable at the throttle. There's a short stop at Sandy Island where our guide helped us bank the skis and take a short walk. There are no public accommodations once on the ski so make sure your party takes a potty break before. After our island stop, we took a different waterway to return, but frankly to me it all looked very much the same because I was so focused on keeping up and not losing my little passenger. While not ideal for the under 16, it's doable. I wouldn't recommend bringing children under the age of 6. Imagine driving two hours with a small child...it's like THAT. Other recommendations is leave all your personal items in your car: no jewelry, hats, drinks, wallets, etc. The staff will hold your car keys. We wore our swimsuits with t-shirts to reduce chafing from the vests and left our shoes on the dock. Both kids had goggles, which I know my youngest put on after we started. My son had a hat, but within seconds of taking off, he had to stuff it into his vest. I wore a bandana, which helped keep my hair from whipping me in the face, but even that came off before we were halfway done. I put it back on when we had our break but tied it tighter. I wore sunglasses too. When I turned to look behind me I would have to hold them on. I also wish I had been able to get pictures of the four of us on our skis. Next time I'll ask the guide to take our picture then he or she text them to me. BTW, there's a little storage box on the ski just in case you need to store something away. With that being said, we will definitely go again. My husband wasn't thrilled with the idea when I first proposed it, but once we were going, he agreed it was a lot of fun. Hydrate and apply sunscreen before! Don't bother with vanity. Your hair will look like Kraemer's from Seinfeld upon conclusion.
You can't go wrong with Island Adventure. These guys know their customer service and from someone who works in customer service that is saying something. Great communication over the phone and email notifications. They are on top of their game. The jet ski tour was great and a MUST for anyone visiting Myrtle Beach. Our guide was very helpful and polite and just a pleasure to have on the tour. Hope to be back soon.
Great way to spend a day in Myrtle Beach. Really loved the jet ski rental and our guide was awesome. These guys took great care of us and made the experience one we won't forget. Got some great gopro footage of the intercoastal can't wait to go through all the video.
The adventure was fun but was told not to bring cell phones or cameras because they would take plenty of pictures and share them. Several messages have been left. Now we have no photos of that day. Very dissappointed.
