  • I love to come here with my family and walk the wooded trails. They are full of color and it is very quiet. Lost lake is beautiful and there is a lot of wildlife to enjoy.
  • We arrived after dark and having never been here before got slightly disoriented in the campground. Quickly resolved and set up. The Lake Michigan campground is well designed with lots of trees but so...  more »
  • What a great event!!! Loved the band's and the food. The atmosphere was fun and festive, first time but won't be the last.

  • The campground itself was pretty good and it was pretty much right on Lake Michigan. However, the people that worked there weren't very knowledgeable at all. After checking in we went to our site to set up, but the people that were supposed to be in the site next to us was in ours. We were both staying for one night so instead of letting us just take their site (the one right next to them) the office workers made it a huge deal and ended up calling the DNR rangers to make the other people move... one site over. It wasted about an hour of our day and it seemed very pointless.
  • First time camping in this campground and we plan to come back. Live in Rochester Hills and we love Michigan's west side. The campground is quiet and wooded. Is nice being able to walk to the channel and watch the boats go by. The large day-use beach is a 3 minute drive.
  • Good experience. Staff was friendly and helpful and let us stay on the the last available campsite. We stayed at the "Channel Campground" which is very nicely embedded in a small grove between Lake Muskegon and Lake Michigan. Once you start hiking on the trails nearby, a spectacular landscape unfolds: A mix of dunes, meadows, forests and little ponds. It is remarkably beautiful! The campground itself provides the basic amenities and it is indeed very well suited for tent camping, although they don't have "primitive sites" without hookup. It is nice that there is a fire pit on each campsite, and we made good use of it.
  • One of the best state campgrounds we have been to. Nice camp sights, hosts were very nice, lots to do in the area. Don't know about bathrooms as we didn't need them with our RV.
  • Good atmosphere, great beach on the big lake or Muskegon, awesome for the family been coming here since I was little annually and the place never fails to be great. Good spot to relax and take a load off, there's no push here... dunes are amazing for dogs or kods, and honestly you won't run out of things to do if you just get out there and experience it. Or just kick back, put on some jams, and find some peace for a moment. Can't be beat.
