Go for a walk to the beach, you won't regret it. This place is awesome. Take the family or loved one.
When we visited, this beach was much less crowded than others in the area. At high tide, there's not much beach, but still it wasn't packed and we had a nice walk up the shore. There are some short tr... read more »

Great place! We loving coming here as a family. There are some very nice changing rooms and bathrooms near the parking lot as well as paved trails leading down to the beach. The beach itself is well maintained and beautiful! It's more of a family friendly place and if you get here earlier in the day, no large crowds. I believe the beach is handicap accessible with options of a staircase or ramp leading to the beach. Definitely worth a visit!
The view from the campers' beach has become my new favorite view of Lake Michigan. The campsites themselves are a little small, but not terrible. However, if you like your space I'd recommend reserving at least two spaces side by side.
Great park. Clean facilities. Close by ice & firewood. Nice options for hiking, biking & swimming. Seems family friendly [I don't have kids]. Electricity boxes placed well. Fire pit & nice picnic tables at every campsite.
Worst campsite I have ever had the misfortune of visiting. There are over 200 campsites in a small area meaning that there is no separation between adjacent sites. Our neighbors were right on top of us and decided that it was appropriate to set up a large string of lights right next to our tent and keep them on well past a reasonable hour. Parents let their children scream and yell well past quiet hours with no indication that they tried to control them. People showed up late and kept their headlights on and shining into our tent for twenty minutes. The campsite is near the Muskegon airport so there are low flybys all the time. With over two hundred campfires burning at any one time there is a constant, thick haze of smoke at all times. There seemed to be no enforcement of quiet hours. Will never return. If you like being crammed in like sardines and being around rude people this is the place for you.
Great beach and great trails. Perfect for exploring or just swimming. Campground is great too. There are many scheduled activities throughout the summer. Make sure to check out the Visitor's Center.
