  • My husband and I drove to the Crater from Hot Springs on a whim. You can rent all of your digging equipment so you need nothing. I went to Walmart and picked up a $7 pair of tennis shoes that I didn't...  more »

  • A lovely park that is great for a day trip. Planned a trip here to spend time in the diamond search area, found the experience to be even more fun than I had thought. Entrance for adults at the moment is $8 a person, kids 6-12 $5, and 5 and under is free; the tickets are good for the entire day, so you may walk in and out. They have equipment for rental, but note there is a deposit on the rental of up to $60. Most all the equipment we rented was a decent shape, but did see a few people come and trade in for items in better condition. I will say, I think the most fun is the water shifting, so if you are going to rent, rent the water shifting screens. I highly enjoyed my time and am considering another return trip some time in the future.
  • We had a good time at the Creator of Diamonds State Park, even though it rained some. All the camp sites are great. Most, if not all, are nicely shaded. The trees between the sites give nice privacy too. I also like the little cafe there. It's a nice option to cooking for yourself at camp. We didn't find any diamonds and we didn't go to the pool, but we had a great stay.
  • I could have stayed here all day and night. Had so much fun looking for diamonds. Of course being a beginner everything looks like a diamond. Didn't have any luck finding one, but had an overall great time trying. Will be back !!
  • It is as advertised. Nothing fancy, but where else in the world can you go to dig for diamonds and keep what you find? Rangers are helpful. You can rent everything you need there. You WILL get dirty.
  • Fun! Great place for a family outing. Lots of rocks and minerals and semi precious stones. Found a tiny diamond. Surrounding park beautiful. Full of wildlife. Park kept in excellent condition. Would be a delightful place to camp.
