  • The kids loved learning about fossils and digging for sharks teeth. The guide was very good with our rowdy bunch!
  • My grandchildren absolutely LOVE this museum! We go several times a month in the summer and once a month during the rest of the year. The staff is totally awesome, friendly, and knowledgeable.

  • Took 2 of the grandkids last Saturday. Had a wonderful time. They had heard about their great great grandfather Johnny (Jap.) Merritt who operated the Prarie Queen the largest of dragline for its time until they made him retire. He worked for W.R. Grace. I worked for I. M.C. New Wales as a young man. Their grandmother, my wife of 25 year's, Annette Lott Merritt worked for Globe Security's starting at the age of 18, working at United States Steel Ft Meade. Then Agrico South Pierce where she was a Security supervisor. She used to sit for hours on the dikes east of Ft. Meade and watch my grandfather operate the Prarie Queen and can remember days of climbing Sand Mountain in Ft.Meade and the failed Skeleton Motel in Ft Meade. Today we are joining the shark tooth dig.
