  • Under the guise of a mountain club AMC actually behaves like a private company, or a travel agency, with very well-paid executives, and a policy of recruitment of resources aimed at maintaining facilities of high range in the White Mountains, despising the attention to the modest infrastructure of trails. In particular, with respect to the Appalachian Trail, AMC ignores completely this path (that doesn't attract customers of luxury, which is what you are really interested); not facilitates the opening of free and well conditioned shelters in the AT by New Hampshire travel; avoid referring to the Appalachian Trail in the signaling of the trail in this State (and instead is to create and disseminate the existence of a multitude of small paths, that Yes are useful for them to attract customers to their business); pretending that cares about the environment in the White Mountains, is dedicated to offer vacation packages, for that entire families, without the slightest sensitivity and notion of what is a mountain path, trample a thousand times the damaged trails of New Hampshire, sections that are very saturated with visitors. The AMC is a club danino, and NH federal and State authorities should withdraw its political and economic support.
